Why are we putting job satisfaction on the agenda?

Job satisfaction concerns you, me and all of us

Here at Jobindex, we believe that job satisfaction is an important parameter in modern working life. It concerns us all, as most of us spend a lot of time at work. Many of us spend more time with our colleagues than with our families. Therefore, it is important to find a job we enjoy.

For companies, attracting talented employees is important. A company is not much more than the sum of its employees, and the companies that can attract the best employees succeed in beating the competition. This applies to all types of businesses – from small craft enterprises to large consultancies.

As we make our living helping job seekers find jobs and employers find qualified candidates, we also believe that it is important to be able to provide information about the job and what the workplace is like, ensuring that the right match can create job satisfaction for both the job seeker and the company.

Visible job satisfaction offers a much-needed overview

In order to be able to provide information on what the Danish companies are like, we have introduced ratings of workplaces where employees can anonymously rate their current and past jobs with stars and write personal comments about their experience of the workplace. This offers a new and better overview of the job market – an overview that has not previously been possible to obtain. At the same time, it is a help in finding a job with a high level of job satisfaction, and we help the good workplaces to attract people by highlighting those who do well.

We also focus more on job satisfaction because we succeeded in creating a really good workplace ourselves, and know how important job satisfaction has been to our own success. Our CEO Kaare Danielsen has always attached importance to creating a workplace with a high degree of job satisfaction. And we have long been focused on dream jobs and job satisfaction, when we advertise on TV. In fact, we have been doing it since 2008 – so it’s not completely new to us.

Job satisfaction benefits all – and that is why it is a joint responsibility we all share

We believe that we can advise companies on how they can create greater job satisfaction, and we are happy to spend time and effort convincing them that job satisfaction is a prerequisite for them to attract qualified applicants and retain their employees. At the same time, we want to tell employees how they can help take responsibility for job satisfaction and how we can all contribute. If we create greater job satisfaction, we all win. That is why we put job satisfaction on the agenda.
