Job ad: 3-year postdoc position in virology research

A 3-year postdoc research position within molecular virology is vacant in the Virus Research and Development laboratory (Virus Forskning & Udviklings Laboratoriet, ViFU), Statens Serum Institut (SSI), from 1st February 2023 or thereafter.

Your role will be to:

• Participate in the Novo Nordisk project FluZooMark (https://fluzoomark.dk). The project aims to characterize influenza viruses in humans and pigs to find what dictates the virus’ zoonotic potential. Together with national (SSI/KU Vet) and international (St Jude, USA) collaborators, we will explore cellular and viral markers of disease to develop a DNA vaccine and test this candidate in a pig challenge model.
• Participate with the ViFU team to design, construct, and test DNA plasmid vaccines against influenza A in mice and pigs
• Optimize immunological assays for characterizing vaccine-induced immunity in pigs (ELISA, NAb, HAI, NAI, CMI, live virus MNT).
