We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Engineering team, where you will help develop innovative and reliable solutions that address the real-world challenges faced by our clients in the wind energy sector together with 12 other colleagues in Engineering.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Automation Engineer to take responsibility for complex, multidisciplinary engineering systems. You will join a strong team and work on the development, integration, and optimization of automation solutions for heavy-duty lifting and transport equipment.
This is a new role at DanHydra and an important step in building strong internal capabilities within automation and control technology. You will work closely with specialists in product development teams and play a key role in strengthening cooperation with procurement, production, and external development partners.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your work will directly influence DanHydra’s automation and control strategy, product performance, and technology roadmap — key factors in our continued success in the wind industry.
What We’re Looking For
You are a skilled Automation Engineer with an academically strong background as well as strong multidisciplinary mindset and solid experience in the development of industrial machinery, automation, or control systems. Ideally, you have worked +5 years with equipment where hydraulics, electrical systems, software, sensors, safety functions, and mechanical design must operate as one integrated solution. You can define and convert functional and safety requirements into robust control concepts with well-defined system interfaces, aligned with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the upcoming Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, develop PLC/HMI software, plan and execute to testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
Experience with the Siemens PLC platform and hardware – as well as software development using the TIA Portal is required. Experience with hydraulic power units, proportional valves, pressure and flow control, closed-loop regulation, or similar hydraulic control applications will also be a strong advantage.
As a structured and results-oriented team player, you are comfortable working across disciplines and driving technical alignment between automation, hydraulics, mechanics, and electrical engineering. You communicate clearly with both specialists and stakeholders, take ownership of technical challenges, and contribute practical solutions that balance performance, safety, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
