DTU Mechanical Engineering is collaborating with DTU Chemical Engineering and DTU Energy on a project concerning biofuel production based on biomass gasification and solid oxide cells.
In relation to this project we are looking for a PhD student with background in the field of applied engineering thermodynamics with an interest in the development of the future fossil free energy system.
The work will include:
- Building thermodynamic models and simulation of integrated systems combining biomass gasification and solid oxide cells. The aim is to analyse several integrated systems and compare them, based on energy and cost, with more conventional systems.

Within this biomass conversion industry the Senior Business Development Manager, located at the Novozymes’ headquarters in Bagsvaerd, Denmark, is responsible for planning and realizing country specific strategies within the EMA region by managing a portfolio of activities and projects in business intelligence, sales/project development and marketing.
In this role, you constantly develop and mature a pipeline of interesting business opportunities and manage its challenging proposals. You establish and expand an EU-wide network of key stakeholders in the biofuels and biochemical industry including renowned producers, feedstock providers, strategic investors, off-takers, government, academia etc.

Center for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE), Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) seeks a PhD to support our BioCO2 project. The proposed work will be conducted in collaboration between DTU Chemical Engineering and the project partners Union Engineering and Danish Gas Technology Center.
The aim of your project will be to develop a simulation engine which will further be used in the BioCO2 project by your colleges for process design, simulation, and optimization. You will expand existing DTU software for this purpose.
The development will include a new DTU solvent technology which has proven to give reduced energy consumption during solvent regeneration.
