Senior Data Platform Engineer for Data Platform Tribe

Are you driven to build platforms and enable developers to thrive? Can you translate user needs into innovative platform capabilities? Do you enjoy creating scalable solutions and see highly regulated environments as an exciting challenge?

The Data Engineering Experience squad is part of the Data Platform Tribe, which supports data professionals across Danske Bank.

Our squad is responsible for designing and maintaining the tooling and frameworks that make the work of Data Engineers easier across the bank, as they develop on our Databricks-based enterprise data platform on AWS.

To thrive in this role, you will need to understand data engineering needs and challenges and translate them into a platform approach – implementing solutions that are scalable, reusable, and broadly applicable.

You will join a highly skilled, multicultural team of professionals who combine expertise and integrity with a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. We value each person’s contributions and encourage everyone to fully engage with their work and responsibilities.

You will:

  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipeline templates for data engineering and machine learning using Databricks Asset Bundles
  • Design and implement a technical framework for data products
  • Design, develop, and support Data Engineering platform onboarding activities
  • Contribute to the creation, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based data platform infrastructure using Terraform
  • Administer the data platform while ensuring alignment with strict security policies
  • Collaborate on building monitoring and observability standards and solutions for the platform
  • Support the automation and optimisation of data engineering workflows

About you:

  • 3–7 years of experience in a DevOps or infrastructure role, ideally with exposure to data‑oriented architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions and familiarity with tools like Docker, Bash scripting, and Git
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work across diverse tasks, as the role involves varied, non‑repetitive responsibilities
  • Self‑motivated, with the ability to collaborate effectively and support others; advanced proficiency in English
  • Experience implementing Databricks in an enterprise environment
  • Knowledge of AWS networking and experience with Terraform would be beneficial
  • Background as a Data Engineer or Data Scientist is considered a plus
  • Familiarity with Pub/Sub and Kafka streaming services is beneficial

Even if you do not meet all the listed requirements, we encourage you to apply – we value potential, curiosity, and motivation.

“Together, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees.”
