You will lead a team of approximately 16 talented Scientists and Laboratory Technicians at Novo Nordisk's PS API Manufacturing Science & Technology Analytical Support laboratory in Kalundborg. The Characterisation & Support team is responsible for the characterisation analysis done in MSAT (LC-MS and GC-MS), laboratory equipment (implementation and maintenance), and IT mainly related to laboratory equipment.
The main tasks will be to:
- Ensure optimal working conditions for your team members
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement
- Focus on automating and digitalizing processes and systems, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources effectively
- Develop the team and the department, setting an excellent example and guiding employees in the right direction.
Your success will depend on creating an enthusiastic work environment, matching team member capabilities with requests, and fostering strong collaboration with stakeholders both within and outside PS API.
About the Department
Today, our 4,500 employees produce half of the world’s insulin and a number of biopharmaceutical products. Together, we make a difference every day for more than 40 million people living with diabetes and other chronic diseases.
From 2022-2029 we will invest 60 billion DKK to expand existing facilities in our manufacturing hub in Kalundborg, Denmark, for the current and future portfolio within serious chronic diseases. This will establish additional capacity across the entire global value chain from manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) to packaging, with the vast majority being invested in API capacity. With the investment, more than 1,250 new jobs will be created.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role have: ·
- Degree in one of the Natural Sciences disciplines
- Managerial experience in a manufacturing company
- Knowledge of GMP, regulated areas, and LEAN is a plus
- Experience with analytical methods and a strong interest in automation will be advantageous
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, Danish is nice to have but not required
You should have a keen eye for process optimisation and improving team working conditions, as well as the ability to adapt to change and motivate employees through
transitions. A goal-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude are essential, along with a genuine interest in your team's well-being.
