Your new role
As a key player in the manufacturing of chemical entities and the chemical modification of recombinant peptides and proteins, you will support life cycle management activities at Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) to ensure a reliable market supply of our products. Your role will also involve engaging with cross-organisational groups, generating and updating relevant technical documentation, and providing scientific input for change requests and deviations.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee manufacturing and chemical modification of recombinant peptides and proteins.
  • Support life cycle management activities at Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs).
  • Contribute to process transfers, validations, and optimisation projects at CMOs.
  • Prticipate in cross-organisational groups for project engagement.
  • Generate and update relevant technical documentation to the required scientific level.
  • Provide scientific input for change requests and deviations, including updates to regulatory documents, authorship, and review.

Yor new department
In the Product Supply (PS) section of Novo Nordisk we manufacture the pharmaceutical backbone of our many quality APIs. CMO Process & Product is part of PS API Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT), and our team is responsible for the many processes that are performed externally at our CMOs; CMOs manufacturing our modification reagents, which ultimately provide our APIs the required pharmacokinetics.
You can look forward to becoming part of a dynamic and cross functional team, consisting of 13 process scientists and specialists, and 1 laboratory technician. We thrive on professional challenges and work independently with great individual responsibility and a high level of commitment. We collaborate with various stakeholders in the organisation including production departments, analytical departments, CMC, regulatory affairs, and QA. We therefore enjoy being part of a wide range of activities and projects within the organisation. We also have external collaboration with CMOs, which are main stakeholders for this position.
Your primary place of work will be in our Bagsværd office, and 3-5 travel days pr. year is to be expected

Your skills and qualifications
We are interested in finding a highly adaptable professional with analytical, innovative and collaborative skills, which can be used with internal and external stakeholders. You must excel independently and within diverse teams, ensuring timely and practical solutions across multiple disciplines and external partnerships while also possessing the ability to take decisions.

Here are the qualifications we consider essential for this role:

  • M.Sc. or PhD in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • At least 3 years of experience in process characterization, validation, and cGMP compliance, including managing deviations and change requests in pharmaceutical environments.
  • Experience with organic synthesis. Knowledge with chemical modification of peptides can be an advantage.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Additionally, it is advantageous to have general expertise in process chemistry, specifically in scaling up and transferring processes from pilot to full scale manufacturing facilities as well as transfers between different sites.
