Your new role
As an IT Manager, you will play a vital role in recruiting, nurturing, motivating, coaching, and overseeing the development of individuals within the IT, Automation, and Robotics team. Your responsibilities will include providing a strategic vision for the organization while managing day-to-day IT support during both the project phase and subsequent operational phases.
In this integral position, you will significantly contribute to the development and delivery of new systems and infrastructure for API manufacturing facilities. Your expertise in IT systems and project management will be essential as you lead a team of IT system managers, administrators, infrastructure engineers, and IT security professionals.
As a member of the IT, Automation, and Robotics Management team, you will collaborate with peers to outline priorities, set objectives, and provide guidance to your team. Your proficiency in integrating complex systems will be pivotal in advising on project decisions, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards throughout the project, and ensuring the successful achievement of project deliverables.
Your specific responsibilities will encompass:
- Recruiting, orienting, and developing new members of the IT team
- Utilizing your IT systems and infrastructure expertise to ensure the successful delivery, management, and operations of IT/OT Systems
- Overseeing the management and resolution of IT incidents, ensuring timely responses and minimal disruption to operational processes.
- Aligning closely with our validation professionals to ensure the change management process is adhered to
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders, external partners, and other IT and Automation departments across the Novo Nordisk network
- Leading and managing the team through the transition from project to operations
- Serving as a role model for the Novo Nordisk Way
Your primary location will be in Kalundborg, in close proximity to the manufacturing sites. Given that many of our collaborative partners operate around Copenhagen, occasional travel to work in those locations is expected.
The project holds considerable strategic significance for Novo Nordisk, enjoying high visibility and support from Senior Management. Simultaneously, you will be integrated into Novo Nordisk's IT organization, which provides support for all major expansion projects as well as operations.

In CMC & Product Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.
The IT and Automation Department is made up of a diverse team of individuals with a variety of nationalities and professional experiences. The team atmosphere is very inclusive and the team members support each other in getting acclimated to Novo Nordisk and life in Kalundborg. You will find the team inviting and collaborative in finding solutions and supporting each other’s tasks. Due to the fast pace of project life, our team is very dynamic and is able to shift priorities in order to support project milestones.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a proactive leader who can lead the team both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the following skills and experiences:
- Hold an M.Sc. or B.Sc. in IT or Engineering or possess relevant experience.
- 8+ years of professional experience in IT management and operations.
- Experience in leading technical teams with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
- Knowledge of compliance and validation requirements within Pharma or another cGMP regulated industry.
- Experience with ITSM platforms such as Service Now.
- Proficient in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or PMP certification - preferred.
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
