It’s not unusual to push the boundaries of supporting processes in a state-of-the-art active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) manufacturing facility, but in this role, you’ll push the boundaries of strong know-how/expertise in biotech manufacturing by using new and automated technologies too.
Your new role
As part of Novo Nordisk Manufacturing Kalundborg, your role in PPV Process Line 1 Process Support will be to understand pharmaceutical processes, develop monitoring tools and analyse data for recommendations and improvements. An understanding of business impact and the interconnectedness of decisions in pharmaceutical manufacturing is essential for this role. As we transition from project to operational phases, your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring a smooth and effective shift to full operations.
Day-to-day your tasks will include:
- Analysing large amounts of data for extracting correlation and causation for process understanding. Also, developing, maintaining, and recommending statistical process control charts for process monitoring
- Utilizing a science, data-based approach for quantifying process deviations and handling deviations when processes do not operate as intended
- Operating in a team-based approach for recommending process improvements and optimizations
- Writing and executing change requests to implement improvements including validation when required
- Coordinating with other disciplines in the department to ensure optimal production capacity at all times

Your skills & qualifications
We’re looking for a new Process Scientist who will enjoy working in a high-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring with you:
- Knowledge and experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), alongside an understanding of scientific principles required for manufacturing pharmaceutical substances related to the interaction of chemistry and equipment
- A keen interest in technology and digitalization. Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools, data analysis, statistics and programming, that are considered are an advantage
- Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to take initiative and handle multiple tasks at the same time, while staying self-driven and proactive
- Excellent communications skills to all levels and fluency in English, while having proficiency in Danish is nice to have
- A master's degree and/or PhD in biology, engineering, biotechnology, pharmaceutical science, or equivalent life science, with a quality mindset
About Site Kalundborg
At Novo Nordisk manufacturing hub in Kalundborg, we are growing. From 2022-2029 we will invest 60 billion DKK to expand existing facilities for the current and future portfolio within serious chronic diseases. This will establish additional capacity across the entire global value chain from manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) to packaging, with the vast majority being invested in API capacity.
