The Position
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director to lead our Labour Relations department. In this position, you will play a critical role in developing and executing our Labour Relations strategy, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, employment and labour laws and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities and main tasks:
- Labour Relations strategy: Develop, lead, and execute a comprehensive Labour Relations strategy that aligns with the corporate people strategy.
- Duty of care: Act as the guardian for compliance with employment and labour laws, ensuring adherence to Novo Nordisk’ Way and internal policies.
- Expert guidance: Provide support and counselling to line of business (LoB) and HR Business Partners in navigating complex employment matters.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Risk management: Identify, assess, and manage risks related to employment practices and Labour Relations, implementing strategies for risk mitigation.
- Union negotiations: Drive negotiations with local unions, striving for agreements that benefit both the company and its employees while upholding fair practices.
- Training development: Create and deliver training sessions on employment and labour law compliance for relevant stakeholders to enhance their understanding and application of policies.
Qualifications:
The right candidate is a proactive leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for fostering positive workplace relations. Moreover, we expect you to have:
- A Master’s degree in Law or Business and Law.
- +10 years of experience in an employer/employee organisation, law firm, or in house labour relations departments within large private companies.
- + 3 years of people management.
- Strong knowledge of labour and employment law, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various functions and levels.
- Full proficiency in Danish and English.
About the department
Labour Relations is responsible for the labour relations strategy and handles the overall principles for our employment and labour law compliance at Novo Nordisk. We support managers and engage with our stakeholders. The department is led by a manager with 11 direct reports and reports to Anette In Sook Holmen, VP Head of People Relations.
