HMI & Industrial Systems Developer
Be part of the green energy revolution!
Would you like to help develop the next generation of electrolyzers for green fuel production? Do you have experience with HMI and industrial systems, and are you eager to apply your skills to real-world energy challenges? If so, we can’t wait to meet you!
We’re looking for a motivated HMI & Industrial Systems Developer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to scaling up our prototype electrolyzers and expanding the Power-to-X industry.
Meet DynElectro
DynElectro is a Danish scale-up of around 25 passionate people, manufacturing Dynamic Electrolysis Units (DEUs) that produce green hydrogen, balance the electricity grid, and extend system lifetime.
We’re proud of our achievements and our diverse, inclusive team culture. We work in a flat organization where your ideas matter, and where personal development and well-being are priorities.
What you’ll do
As our new HMI & Industrial Systems Developer, you'll help develop and maintain the operator interfaces and industrial IT systems used to monitor and control our electrolyzer systems. Your work will focus on HMI/SCADA development, process databases, industrial networks, and IT/OT infrastructure.
You'll join a small, multidisciplinary engineering team where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, influence technical solutions, and see your contributions in operation. We're looking for someone who can bring valuable expertise to our team, while also being interested in learning and working across disciplines.
Depending on your experience and interests, we'll shape the role around your strengths and the needs of our growing team.
This is an on-site position at our facility in Viby Sjælland, where you'll work closely with engineers, operators, and the physical systems we develop.
Your tasks may include:
- Developing and improving our HMI/SCADA applications, including operator screens, alarms, trends, and dashboards
- Connecting HMI applications to our Beckhoff TwinCAT PLCs and making sure signals, commands, and alarms work as intended
- Working with operators to make our systems easier to use and troubleshoot
- Maintaining and improving our process databases, including historical data, SQL queries, backups, and performance
- Connecting our systems to customer SCADA, historians, and other external systems
- Setting up and troubleshooting industrial PCs, networks, remote access, and IT/OT security
- Developing PLC-side HMI interfaces when needed, together with our PLC developers
- Helping with commissioning, testing, documentation, and customer handover. Some travel will be required
You won't be expected to know everything on this list. Depending on your experience, you'll be able to focus on the areas where you can contribute most and then develop the other skills on the job.
Who you are
You have a background in Automation Engineering, Software Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field—or relevant practical experience from a similar role.
You're curious, structured, and enjoy solving technical problems across different disciplines. You like understanding how systems work, from operator interfaces and software to industrial communication and infrastructure.
Ideally, you bring practical experience in one or more of HMI/SCADA development, process databases, or industrial IT/OT systems, along with an interest in expanding your skills into other areas.
We value:
- Experience with or a strong understanding of HMI, SCADA, process visualisation, and user-interface design
- A structured approach to development, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
- An understanding of industrial processes, PLC communication, process signals, alarms, and historical data
- Knowledge of databases, industrial networking, or IT/OT infrastructure and security
- The ability to take initiative, solve problems, and work independently as well as collaboratively
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with operators, engineers, and customer IT teams
- Willingness to learn new technologies and support commissioning activities
Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, SQL databases, industrial communication protocols, or Windows/Linux system administration would be useful, but you don't need to know all of them.
We're open to different backgrounds and would rather find the right person than someone who ticks every box.
Why join us?
At DynElectro, you’ll:
- Work with cutting-edge green hydrogen technology
- Be part of a close-knit, supportive team
- Get hands-on experience with full-scale industrial systems
- Work with experienced colleagues in an environment that encourages curiosity and growth
