Senior Specialists for Software or Data Engineering

We are expanding our software and data capabilities and looking for experienced specialists in software engineering, data science and machine learning to join our Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group European Innovation Center in Aarhus, Denmark.

You do not need to be an expert in all areas. We are looking for specialists who bring deep expertise within one or more fields and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.

The SEWPG European Innovation Center (part of Shanghai Electric, one of China’s largest leading manufacturing companies) brings together experienced engineers from the global wind industry to work on innovative R&D projects within advanced load simulation, rotor blade innovation and advanced control. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact on technologies shaping the future of wind power.

Your role & responsibilities

You will join a multidisciplinary team developing software tools, data-driven solutions and machine learning technologies for wind turbine engineering. Working closely with our in-house engineering teams, you will turn complex engineering challenges into robust and innovative technical solutions. You will work in an advanced computing environment with state-of-the-art GPU hardware and infrastructure for machine learning, enabling the development and testing of new methods and solutions.

Depending on your specialization, your responsibilities may include:

Software Engineering & Architecture

• Developing robust and scalable software systems and engineering tools.
• Designing and implementing software solutions and contributing to their architecture and technical direction.
• Integrating software, data sources and interfaces across our engineering environment.
• Driving software quality, testing and development practices, ensuring security, reliability and operational robustness.
• Designing and improving automated workflows and solutions for HPC, cloud and production computing environments.

Data Science & Machine Learning

• Preparing, structuring and modelling data, ensuring data quality and reliable analysis.
• Analysing, interpreting and presenting complex scientific and engineering data using statistical and data science methods.
• Developing, training and evaluating machine learning and predictive models for engineering challenges.
• Developing tools and automated workflows for data processing, analysis and visualisation.
• Contributing to the integration of data sources and solutions for storing, accessing and processing engineering data.

Your profile

You have a relevant technical degree within computer science, software engineering, data science, mathematics, statistics or a related field, combined with substantial professional experience within your area of specialization.

Depending on your specialization, you may have experience with technologies and tools such as Python, C/C++, HPC (Slurm), Git/Jira and DevOps, as well as machine learning frameworks and methods for model development, training and evaluation. Experience with LLMs, agentic systems and machine learning model development is considered an advantage.

You are ambitious and have a high level of drive and energy to create results with a strong focus on the task. You actively drive improving processes and creatively challenge current solutions. You can create success individually and are very capable of collaborating and interacting with stakeholders and engineering teams. We expect you to thrive in working in an international, multi-cultural environment and possess excellent communication skills.
