Finance Assistant

We are looking for an experienced full-time Finance Assistant for an exciting position at Energy Machines.

Energy Machines™ is a leader in the design, implementation, and maintenance of integrated energy systems for buildings. Buildings are a growing problem for the climate and are responsible for more than 28% of global CO₂ emissions. We work to transform buildings from a climate problem into a climate solution.

We are looking for a structured and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our finance team. You will be a key member of the team and will work closely with our entire finance team (currently 7 full-time staff across two countries), reporting directly to our CFO.

The role offers the opportunity to gain broad experience in finance and accounting within a dynamic environment where quality and collaboration are key priorities.

As an accounting employee with us, you will, together with your colleagues, be responsible for the daily tasks of the finance function. We use the NetSuite financial system, and your responsibilities will include the following tasks, primarily for our Danish entities, although there will also be similar tasks, to a lesser extent, for our other entities based in Sweden, Finland and the USA:

  • Bookkeeping/monitoring financial documents, creditors, and debtors
  • Processing supplier invoices and payments (P2P)
  • Invoicing/Accounts Receivable
  • Managing intercompany expense allocation and the intercompany invoicing
  • Debt collection and reminder procedures
  • VAT, reporting and reconciliation
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and suspense accounts
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing
  • Payroll-related tasks (data entry and verification)
  • Optimization and maintenance of financial processes
  • Support in implementing new tools for automatization
  • Ad hoc tasks within finance and administration
  • Support for the rest of the finance team

We prioritize thorough onboarding and training, and there will be ongoing opportunities for sparring.

Profile

We are looking for a quality conscious team player. You are someone who enjoys routine tasks but is open to learning and growing with the role. You are proactive, take ownership of your tasks, and you keep an overview and the set deadlines.

Qualifications

You:

  • Swedish Native-level and fluent English required.
  • Experience with, or the ability to obtain, a Swedish BankID is preferred to support reporting to the Swedish authorities.
  • Have relevant qualifications in finance, e.g. a degree in finance, office administration, or similar.
  • Have a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Are proficient in Excel and preferably familiar with our accounting systems NetSuite, but more importantly, you should be a quick learner and willing to familiarize yourself with new systems.
  • Work in a structured manner and have an eye for detail.
  • Are responsible and able to work independently.
  • Have good teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
