
Category Manager Components
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong technical background in components? Do you want to play a key role in building a sustainable future with one of Europe’s leading biogas companies – that is now part of Shell?
What is the role
Together with the Procurement Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for defined categories of technical components used in our biogas plants. You will collaborate closely with engineering, project, and operations teams across Europe to ensure partnerships with solid and accountable suppliers of high-quality components.
Allocation of your tasks and responsibilities
- Lead the category strategy development and execution
- Prepare and manage tenders, including negotiations and contract finalization
- Ensure components meet technical specifications and quality standards
- Manage supplier relationships and performance (quality, cost, delivery)
- Establish framework agreements and service/spare part strategies
- Drive supplier and supply chain development to ensure scalability, resilience, and innovation
- Support project-specific procurement for new biogas plants
- Identify and qualify new suppliers and value chain opportunities
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and sustainability goals
- Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for your categories
As a Category Manager, you will become part of the Procurement function that acts as the partner for other internal departments to establish technical specifications and performance criteria and to add value for both the construction of industrial large-scale biogas plants and the plant operations.
Your workplace can either be in our office in Aarhus or Støvring, however, we do require 1-2 days per week in Støvring. You can expect approx. 25 days of travel per year.
What we need from you
We are looking for a strategic and technically proficient procurement professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for driving value through supplier collaboration.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a technical education or,
- A professional career that has equipped you with the right foundation to manage complex supply chains and drive strategic procurement initiatives
- 10+ years of experience in component procurement, ideally within project-based or large-scale industrial companies
- A proven ability to navigate matrix organizations and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Solid experience in managing complex contract negotiations and developing sustainable category strategies
- A structured, analytical, and self-driven mindset with a strong focus on quality and long-term value creation
As Nature Energy operates internationally, fluency in both English and Danish is required. Proficiency in French, German, or other European languages is a strong advantage, as the role involves cross-border collaboration across functions and organizational levels.
