Guide to getting the most out of your Job Agent
A Job Agent is an email service that makes your job search easier and less time-consuming – you don't have to search for and monitor jobs yourself because the system does it for you. However, proper setup is the key to receiving jobs that are relevant to you. Follow the guide and get the most out of your Job Agent.
Every day, the Job Agent finds jobs that have been posted online – and sends the jobs that are relevant to you to your email address. All you need to do is tell us what you’re looking for. On this page, we help you do just that.
Create a Job Agent
This page contains the following tips
Two ways to create a Job Agent
- Perform a search on Jobindex – and save it as a Job Agent.
- Get a Job Agent by creating it directly in our engine room.
When you perform a search on Jobindex, you can save it as a Job Agent. This means you get a simple, although often wide-spanning, Job Agent. If, on the other hand, you have a Jobindex profile, you can dive into your personal engine room that sends job adverts straight to you – and by adjusting the tabs here, you decide which job adverts you receive.
Creating a Job Agent
Tip: If you don't want jobs for under 18s or student jobs, copy the following and paste them into your search term:
-study job -study relevant -"looking for a student assistant" -"student assistant wanted"
If you want to add multiple related keywords, put quotation marks (") around the words, e.g. "key account manager".
If you'd rather receive a lot of job adverts that you can then sort through, stick to categories and areas. If, on the other hand, you're tired of weeding and sorting, keywords are a great tool for cutting to the bone.
Adjusting your Job Agent
If you want to remove job adverts with specific words, simply type minus (-) in front of the keyword and/or company name you want to avoid – and add them to your keywords.
It tends to be the keywords that cause problems. Consider removing them and using the job categories instead. If you want to use keywords, check them for spelling mistakes and add more if necessary.
Your spam filter could also be blocking our emails by mistake, so check if this is the case.
