General information

This website is provided by Jobindex. When you navigate to our site, information about your computer and how you use the site will automatically be collected. We do this for several reasons.

Firstly, our website dynamically adapts to the options and pages you use, and ensures that pages you have viewed before, for example, will load quickly.

Secondly, the Jobindex website is hooked up to general web analytics tools — website traffic measurement tools — that provide insight into the number of users on the site, as well as what content users are interested in.

You can read more below about the information we collect, how we handle it and what we use it for.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that is stored by your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera etc.) and which identifies you as a unique user. Cookies make it easier to use the Internet and for sites to remember you so that you do not have to start over again each time you visit. In other words, websites can use cookies to remember information about you and your preferences.

What are cookies used for?

Cookies help tell Jobindex about your visit and how you interact with our website and other digital platforms.

To determine who visits the Jobindex website, we use cookies to generate demographic and user-related statistics. We collect, among other things, information about when and for how long you visit our site, which and how many sections, articles and other products you view, whether our site has been visited on your computer before, which browser and operating system you use, IP numbers and which job ads you view. For example, cookies are used when you log in and create a CV.

These cookies are called first party cookies and are set by Jobindex.

How long are cookies stored?

The number of months for which the cookies that are sent to you will be stored on your machine will vary, counting from the last time you went on the Jobindex website. Each time you revisit a website, it will lengthen the period for which the cookies are stored. Once cookies expire, they will automatically be deleted. You can read below about how to remove cookies.

How do I disable cookies?

If you do not want to have cookies installed, you can block all cookies, remove existing cookies or receive a notification before a cookie is stored. However, you should bear in mind that if you block cookies, there are many website functions and services that you will not be able to use.

Click here for a guide on how to delete or only set cookies temporarily on your browser/smartphone.

Please note that the guide was written for the majority of browsers and smartphones, but some were not mentioned.

You can always use you browser’s help function to get more information on cookie settings. You can typically access this by pressing the “F1” key on your keyboard. Search for “cookies”.

In the Jobindex app, you delete cookies by first deleting the app and then reinstalling it.

Cookies for statistics (website traffic measurement)

Jobindex measures website traffic, and for this we use Google Analytics and Monsido.

Google Analytics and Monsido are web analytics services which use cookies to collect data about how users interact with websites. The information obtained takes the form of general statistics.

The information that we collect about how you use our website (traffic data including your IP address) is sent to and stored on Google’s and Monsido's servers.

You can read more here about how Google and Monsido handle this information:

Cookies for remarketing (advertising)

Jobindex uses cookies to improve and control which ads you are shown. The cookies help us find the ads that — based on your behaviour on the website — are considered to be most relevant to you. We also collect data about which browsers and devices (e.g., phone, tablet, computer) are used. To this end, we work together with Google Analytics.

Cookies from third parties

Jobindex has a number of partners that set cookies — what are known as third party cookies. Such cookies may, for example, be in banner ads from businesses, advertisers, media agencies and other services. Cookies are also set when you click on a video in a job ad or Company Profile.

You can share content from the Jobindex website on social networks. You should expect, however, that the social network will set cookies. The purpose and aim is different from network to network.

In the Cookie Declaration, you can see a complete list of the cookies that are set by third parties.

The Jobindex Cookies and Privacy Policy does not apply for websites you visit via a link from the Jobindex website, e.g. when you are led from a job ad to the company’s website or application page. We recommend that you always check the privacy policy and terms on each site you visit.

Tracking technologies

Web pages and emails from Jobindex may contain a small, transparent image file or line of code (known as web beacons/clear gifs, page tags or scripts) that record how you interact with them. We use them to help us better analyse and improve our services based on your browsing behaviour and interests. We can do so by knowing, for example, which elements of a page you have seen, when and for how long, whether you viewed and/or clicked on a link on the website, if you navigated to an external web page or whether you opened or clicked on marketing emails that were sent to you.

You can view the previous version of these terms and conditions here
