International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT)

IRCT is the leading global association on torture rehabilitation with 158 members in 75 countries. Our member centres provide support to 58000 torture victims world wide, every year. Our work is governed by the members and aspires to be the global unified voice of the torture rehabilitation movement.

Torture rehabilitation centers do the front-line work to rehabilitate torture survivors through psychological support, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. The data collected from cases is used confidentially to pressure decision-makers to live up to their obligations to eradicate torture, to finance rehabilitation support and deliver justice.

The Secretariat supports the members and coordinates activities and interventions. We are based in Copenhagen an office in Brussels and team members in Taiwan, Hawaii and Germany.
