DONG Energy Wind Power
Wind plays an important role in Europe's transformation to cleaner energy, and it has great potential. DONG Energy has built more offshore wind farms than any other company worldwide. We have built more than one quarter of the total offshore wind capacity in the market. By 2020, we aim to have doubled our installed capacity compared with 2016 from 3.0 GW to 6.5 GW. The installed capacity in 2020 is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 16 million Europeans.
What we do
Wind Power develops, builds and operates wind farms in Northern Europe. We have built more than one third of the total offshore wind capacity in the market, and five million Europeans receive clean electricity from our offshore wind farms. By 2020, the farms we have built will be able to supply clean electricity to 15 million Europeans
Where we operate
Wind Power has the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. Denmark, the UK and Germany are our largest and fastest-growing markets.
More offshore wind farms are on the way, for example Westermost Rough in the UK and Borkum Riffgrund 1 in Germany.
