A position as data manager within the Integrative Systems Biology area lead by Professor Søren Brunak is to be filled as soon as possible. The position is time limited until January 31, 2019.
The position will require the candidate to lead, facilitate and coordinate data acquisition and data management procedures for both the IMI funded DIRECT and the ‘Danish Next Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatics Platform for Precision Medicine’ projects.
The appointed candidate will also be acting as a management interface between the group’s scientists and DTU’s High Performance Computing team, Computerome. Therefore, experience with systems administration, secure private cloud environments, MySQL, and programming (eg R, Perl, Python) is desirable. Experience with eCRFs and data handling is also desirable.
A PhD Scholarship focused on ascertaining the impacts of micro and macro plastics on habitat quality and the dynamics of exploitable marine resources is available at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua), starting in May 2018. The scholarship is financed by various sources, including the EU Project CLAIM Cleaning Litter by developing and Applying Innovative Methods in European Seas.
In many parts of the world, marine habitats are degraded by anthropogenic activities including the introduction of micro and macro plastics. These particles impact on species vital rates and as a result have the potential to influence aquaculture installations and the population dynamics of exploited fish stocks.
A PhD Scholarship is available at the National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) with expected starting date August 1st, 2017. DTU Aqua is an institute at the Technical University of Denmark.
The focus of the PhD is the potential use of protein sources that arise as by-products or production side streams in the Nordic countries in aquaculture feeds. The scholarship is financed by the Nordic Center of Excellence project SUREAQUA funded by NordForsk under the Nordic Council of Ministers with support from the PhD school at DTU Aqua.
The position is based at the Section for Aquaculture, DTU Aqua in Hirtshals, but part of the work will be conducted in collaboration with project partners.
