You will be joining a highly ambitious 8 person team at Spectro Inlets, including 6 PhD engineers specialized in the fields of nanofabrication, vacuum physics, chemistry, and electrochemistry both within fundamental research and commercial development. The team is international, representing 5 nationalities.

Fabrication of the microchip inlets is carried out at the DTU Nanolab cleanroom facilities, which boast state-of-the-art equipment, including methods for photolithography, reactive ion etching, and electron microscopy. The equipment usage is supported by trained process specialists.

A 3-year PhD fellowship is available in homogeneous catalysis at the Department of Chemistry, DTU from September 1, 2020 or soon thereafter. The fellowship is funded by an alliance research project grant from the Technical University of Denmark.

The project involves a collaboration between KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Technical University of Denmark. The aim is to elucidate the mechanisms for new (de)hydrogenation reactions catalysed by first-row transition metal complexes with tetradentate ligands. The work will include experimental investigations at DTU and theoretical studies at KTH.

The ultimate goal is to develop sufficiently accurate theoretical models, which will make it possible to design improved catalyst complexes in silico and in this way determine the optimum ligand structures.

The PhD research project is a collaboration with blood group expert Prof. Martin L. The project goal is the discovery and engineering of enzymes for the conversion of red blood cell antigens to the universal group O.

In addition to single material mould inserts, multimaterial combinations will be investigated to achieve desired material properties distribution.
