PhD scholarship in Mechanically Active 3D Bio-printed Tissue Models – DTU Health Tech

Are you interested 3D printing, living tissue models and materials engineering?

DTU Health Tech is now offering a PhD scholarship within design and fabrication of complex microdevices for culture and maturation of 3D tissue muscle tissues derived from stem cell sources.

Human tissue models based on stem cells provide new means for studying human health and disease in the lab. These systems may ultimately reduce the cost of drug development and accelerate biomedical research in general, yet consistent tissue fabrication, maturation and monitoring remains a key challenge. Multi-material 3D printing has recently emerged as a powerful tool for addressing these challenges.

PhD Scholarship in natural product chemistry - DTU Bioengineering

Are you interested in microbial natural product research and working in a team? We have the task of utilizing bioactive molecules inspired by nature to help with human health or sustainable agriculture.

The project will be focusing on the characterization of microbial secondary metabolites from different microbes, with the ambition to apply them in biocontrol and human medicine.

Your main analytical approach will be based on metabolomics using state-of-the-art high-resolution mass spectrometry techniques including LC/MS, MALDI imaging, NMR spectroscopy and different types of chromatography.

The Materials Mechanics group within the Section of Solid Mechanics, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering is hiring a highly qualified and ambitious PhD student to work on phase-field modeling of corrosion fatigue.

The overarching aim of the project is to (1) couple phase field corrosion models with mechanics, (2) combine phase field fracture and corrosion formalisms, (3) incorporate the role of the material microstructure, (4) resolve the electro-chemo-mechanical nature of the problem, and (v) validate with experiments carried out by other project partners.

We are currently seeking three Ph.D. candidates to join a Novo Nordisk Foundation-funded project, “Soft wearables with high energy density: merging chemical biology and silicone chemistry with compliant active devices (WeArAble).

The project’s focus will be on the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel silicone polymers and elastomers.

PhD scholarship in Organic Chemistry - DTU Chemistry

A 3-year PhD fellowship is available in organic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis.

The main task of the candidate will be to develop novel photocatalyzed reactions with bio-derived substrates for forming carbon-carbon bonds.

The aim is to identify new transformations for converting inexpensive starting materials into more valuable compounds. The reactions will be optimized, the scope investigated with a variety of substrates and the mechanisms studied with experimental methods.
