You will be part of Group IPR based at VKR Holding. We work closely with our colleagues in the product development systems of the VELUX and DOVISTA Groups. Group IPR currently consists of three experienced patent engineers and two trademarks and domain names specialists.

Your primary role will involve supporting product development projects by engaging in idea harvesting, novelty and clearance searches, IP landscaping, competitor technology monitoring, product teardown analysis, sparring, assist in developing and implementing project-specific IP protection strategies, instructing external patent agents in drafting and prosecuting IP applications.

We seek a motivated, curious, and outgoing PhD candidate with a solid background in optical communication, laser physics or nonlinear optics. Experience with machine learning, digital signal processing and experimental work is a plus.

The project goal is to explore various machine learning techniques to realize feedback control that can enable spectral shaping and quantum noise limited operation. The project will cover both numerical simulations, algorithm development as well as experimental implementations.

You will collaborate with the company PURIFI, a research-based producer of high-end loudspeaker units with wide practical experience on transducer non-linearities, measurement methods, and optimization techniques.
