About the Position

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Sushi Chef to join our team at our sushi restaurant in Copenhagen.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Japanese cuisine, takes pride in their work, and can contribute positively to our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and produce a variety of sushi, including nigiri, maki, uramaki, and other sushi specialties.

  • Prepare fish, seafood, rice, vegetables, and other ingredients according to established standards.

  • Ensure consistent food quality, freshness, presentation, and portion control.

  • Maintain proper food storage, temperature control, and hygiene procedures.

  • Keep the kitchen, equipment, and workstations clean and organized.

  • Monitor ingredient stock and assist with ordering and inventory management.

  • Follow Danish food safety regulations and workplace procedures.

  • Work efficiently and cooperatively with other kitchen staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Relevant experience in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine is preferred.

  • Good knowledge of sushi ingredients, preparation techniques, and food hygiene.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
