MSC is looking for a Non-tenured Assistant Professor with advanced skills in experimental consumer research and sustainable food consumption for a time-limited position of 2 years and 9 months.

The position

The Assistant Professor position involves research projects as well as teaching obligations, with 70% of the time dedicated to research projects and 30% to teaching obligations.

The Assistant Professor will contribute to three externally funded research projects on sustainable food consumption. The research tasks include designing, carrying out and analysing experimental consumer studies on interventions fostering sustainable food consumption, with a specific focus on the transition to plant-rich diets. We are looking for a candidate with a strong affinity to working at the intersection between behavioural economics, food policy and the food sector (in particular supermarkets, canteens, restaurants), who has a history of publishing scientific articles in this field.

The teaching obligations involve exercise classes and lectures in statistics at Bachelor’s level and behavioural economics at Master’s level.

The selected candidate is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the research activities at the Department and the Consumer & Behavioural Insights Group.

The Department

MSC brings together scholars from a range of research areas within management, communication and the broader social sciences and humanities, studying organizations in global environments and the interaction and interdependencies of business, society and government. They share a common interest in studying organizations in global environments and the relations of organizations to the wider society, including decision-making at consumer level. Qualifications

The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent in economics. In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on research potential and research relevant to the job description.

The applicant needs to have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).

The selected candidate is expected to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in working in externally funded projects on sustainable food consumption, including experience with field experiments and survey experiments in a Danish context.

The applicant needs to have advanced skills in quantitative statistical analysis of experimental data, experience with research project management, and a track record of scientific publications as well as project reports.

The selected candidate is expected to have experience in teaching courses on statistics and behavioural economics at a Danish university.
