It’s not unusual to push the boundaries of finding the right technical solutions together with stakeholders and use your technical and regulatory skills to make new equipment work seamlessly, but in this role, you’ll push the boundaries of project engineering too.

Your new role

As part of Quality Control (QC) transformation project, your new role in Needle Manufacturing Project Office will be to take ownership of the technical solution and ensuring it meets the requirements proposed by our stakeholders. This is a key role in one of our ongoing projects. Initially, this would mean taking on the role as Engineering Responsible and be trained accordingly. The position is located in Hjørring, in the northern part of Jutland.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Ensuring that our equipment supplier delivers effective solutions that are fit for the intended use and within cost and quality requirements
  • Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), you write test plans, and document these tests thoroughly.
  • Reading, understanding, and documenting complex technical and regulatory matters in accordance with Novo Nordisk standards is a key part of the role
  • Collaborating with operation responsible colleagues, quality assurance colleagues, technical experts, vendors and consultants
  • Working with the latest technology, vision systems, and robotics together with experts, project managers, and suppliers from around the world. Modest travel activities to vendors can be expected in this role

Your new department

In CMC & Product Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.

Within CMC & Product Supply Finished Product Manufacturing, sits our QC transformation project. Organizationally, you are anchored in the Needle Manufacturing Project Office where you have 15 dedicated colleagues in the closest team. Our main responsibilities include specifying, testing, and introducing new production lines and equipment, ensuring validation of new equipment and establishing manufacturing equipment for new products.

The QC transformation project is a project that we expect to run for several years. We are a project core group of approx. 30 people and requires several departments to work closely together.

The team is part of Needle Manufacturing, which is responsible for the internal production of pen needles as well as the quality control of all Novo Nordisk pen needles produced both internally and externally. We are organised in seven departments with more than 450 employees dedicated to ensuring the pen needle supply to Novo Nordisk.

Your skills & qualifications

We’re looking for a new Advanced Project Engineer who will enjoy working in a

high-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll bring with you:

  • 2 years of experience working within manufacturing equipment development in a highly regulated industry (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, military, or similar)
  • Knowledge of automation and robotics
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communications skills to all levels and fluency in Danish and English
  • A master’s degree or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, automation engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, chemistry, medicine, or another technical/natural scientific field
