About the department

The Cardiomyopathy team is part of the overall cardiovascular disease area in Global Medical Affairs, located just outside Copenhagen in Søborg, Denmark. Currently the cardiovascular area consist of three teams one covering heart failure, one covering ischemic cardiovascular diseases and one covering cardiomyopathy. In Global Medical Affairs we are responsible for building and delivering consistent scientific communication across all phases of clinical trials. We prioritize fostering engagement, mutual respect, and cultivating a positive, open atmosphere. We focus on learnings through a workday with interesting tasks and on personal development.

The cardiovascular area within Novo Nordisk covers an interesting cardiovascular pipeline and within the cardiomyopathy team, the focus is on a monoclonal antibody for ATTR cardiomyopathy in phase 2 and an antisense oligonucleotide targeting a micro-RNA in heart failure management in phase 2.

The position

You will be part of a team of highly motivated and talented Medical Doctors with clinical, research and/or pharmaceutical experience, who are passionate about drug development, medical education, and scientific communication. We offer the opportunity for you to use your medical experience, your analytical skills and your creativity towards new innovative treatments that will make a difference for people living with ATTR cardiomyopathy and heart failure. You will provide timely, accurate and credible scientific and medical input for a variety of projects.

As a Global Medical Manager at Novo Nordisk, your responsibilities will be focused on:

  • Establish and execute scientific communication strategies across clinical trial phases.
  • Provide input to clinical trials and integrated evidence generation strategy
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), International Professional Associations (IPAs), and patient advocacy groups.
  • Define and execute publication strategies and plans, including RWE publications.
  • Deliver medical education through scientific meetings and symposia
  • Support the organization through advisory boards and other insights generation activities.
  • Provide medical guidance through internal training and communication across the organisation.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to co-drive/ provide input to priority cross-functional activities.

The position is based at our office in Søborg (Greater Copenhagen Area), Denmark. Worldwide travel is required — approximately 20% of the time — to attend congresses, Novo Nordisk events, and affiliate meetings.

Qualifications and requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with the following qualifications:

  • A medical doctor with MD and a minimum of 1 year of clinical, research and/or pharmaceutical industry experience within Medical Affairs
  • Professional focus in Cardiology is considered a plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement
