The position
As an ESG Senior Project Manager/Lead at Novo Nordisk, you will have the opportunity to:
- Drive and participate in cross-functional strategic projects on sustainability reporting, with a focus on sustainability reporting standards, such as ESRS and ISSB, ensuring a strategic approach to the disclosure of sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities.
- Assess external requirements and expectations on sustainability reporting from stakeholders and develop proposals for Novo Nordisk's approach to these, aligned with the company’s sustainability strategies.
- Develop and deliver high-quality material on sustainability-related topics to Novo Nordisk’s senior management and governance bodies.
- Engage with ESG rating providers to demonstrate performance development against Novo Nordisk’s sustainability ambitions.
- Drive the consolidation of sustainability-related risks in the organisation, for their consideration in Novo Nordisk’s enterprise risk management framework and double materiality assessment process.
You will be expected to ensure thorough processes creating buy-in from relevant internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will engage with external sustainability experts, e.g. ESG rating providers, industry organisations and standard setters, to ensure Novo Nordisk is at the forefront of the developments in the sustainability reporting field.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A relevant Master’s degree (e.g. Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Engineering).
- Min. +5 years’ experience of managing projects in the field of ESG and sustainability in a large corporate or consultancy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects, incl. project planning, issue-driven problem-solving, senior management communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.

About the department
The ESG Strategy & Intelligence department is driving a broad range of ESG and sustainability related topics, including assessing new reporting regulations, management reporting, data and insights, communications, external trends and intelligence, and cross-functional projects, while also facilitating collaboration with the Novo Nordisk Sustainability Advisory Council.
The team is international and cross-functional collaboration is highly valued. Cultivating team spirit, continuous development and trust are all central priorities for the team.
The ESG Strategy & Intelligence department is part of the EVP area Quality, IT & Environmental Affairs.
