Pennecon is seeking qualified individuals to work at the Nalunaq Mine Site in Southern Greenland.

As we ramp up with this project, we are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to the project team.

Role: Pipefitter, Red Seal
Location: Nanortalik, Greenland

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work.

Duties include:

  • Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine piping layouts and installation requirements
  • Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems, valves, fittings, and related components
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand and power tools and welding equipment
  • Perform installation of piping systems for water, slurry, compressed air, fuel, hydraulic, and process systems
  • Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and system inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
  • Diagnose system faults and perform corrective maintenance as required
  • Complete daily work reports, inspections, and documentation in accordance with project requirements
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to ensure construction schedules are met
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance legislation
  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

  • Red Seal Pipefitter certification
  • Must be familiar with working in construction and mining environments
  • 5+ years of experience installing and maintaining industrial piping systems
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial or mine construction projects
  • Ability to work in a remote mine environment, including varying conditions such as temperature fluctuations, confined spaces, and outdoor work
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials, codes, and standards
  • Proficient in the use of trade-specific tools and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment
  • Able to make sound decisions while working in a fast-paced environment near equipment and personnel

Safety Requirements

  • First Aid training would be an asset
  • Fall protection would be an asset

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Remote Work in Northern Climates
  • Working outside
  • Local accommodations provided, with camp construction pending
  • This position will be required to be on an extended work schedule, with longer hours and weekend work necessary to progress the project in a short construction season 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)
