Mechanic at Gold Mine Processing Plant
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mechanic to join our team at Nalunaq Mine a leading gold mining operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of light/heavy mobile equipment and machinery used in mining operations to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mobile and fixed plant equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, graders, drills, and support vehicles.

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner.

Conduct pre-start checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Work closely with the maintenance planning team to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely completion of work orders.

Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and policies in compliance with mine regulations.

Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool security, and workplace safety.

Use computerized maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS) to log jobs and update maintenance records.

Fabricate and modify parts and equipment as needed, using welding, cutting, and machining tools.

Collaborate with other tradespeople and departments to minimize equipment downtime.
Qualifications and Experience:

Trade Certification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, or equivalent (Red Seal preferred).

Minimum [3–5] years of relevant experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment maintenance.

Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Sandvik, or similar mining equipment is highly desirable.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Valid driver’s license

Underground mining certification or experience (if applicable).

Familiarity with safety management systems and mine health and safety standards.

Working Conditions:
