IT Manager
Role snapshot
Reports to: GM Technology (Melbourne, Australia).
Location: Denmark.
Employment type: Full-time, permanent.
Direct reports: IT Support team (2 FTE, based in South Africa).
Key relationships: Group Technology, Finance, Operations, Quality, managed service provider (MSP) and vendors.
About us
Cannatrek and Little Green Pharma (LGP) merged in June 2026 to build a combined medicinal cannabis group. We cultivate, manufacture and supply regulated products across Australia and international markets.
We are integrating our systems, processes and technology teams onto shared group platforms, while maintaining the reliability and compliance of our day-to-day operations.
The role
We are looking for a hands-on IT Manager to lead the delivery of IT services for LGP’s Denmark operations. You will be equally comfortable managing a small distributed support team, coordinating vendors and personally troubleshooting complex issues when needed. This is a genuinely hands-on role: you will be the person who actually logs in and fixes things, not just the person who raises the ticket.
Your priority is to keep office, cultivation and manufacturing technology reliable, secure and well documented. You will work closely with local Finance, Operations and Quality teams, and with Group Technology, to support business-critical systems and deliver changes safely.
Reporting to the GM Technology in Melbourne, you will be part of a group-wide technology function spanning Australia, Denmark and South Africa. You will have day-to-day operational ownership within agreed group standards, controls and investment approvals. You will join the regular IT leadership forum and help shape group standards and the integration roadmap. Some meetings outside standard local business hours will be required.
Key responsibilities
Systems and infrastructure
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams in line with group standards and access controls.
- Maintain endpoint devices, local networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs, printers and site infrastructure, working with the MSP and specialist providers as appropriate.
- Support the IT components of cultivation, manufacturing and warehouse systems, including connectivity to site access, CCTV and environmental monitoring, in partnership with operational system owners.
- Maintain backup, recovery and business continuity arrangements; ensure recovery procedures are documented and periodically tested.
- Keep current inventories of assets, licences, systems, privileged access, vendors and technology dependencies, with secure administration and handover documentation.
Service delivery and support
- Lead, coach and prioritise the two-person remote IT Support team; establish clear responsibilities, coverage and escalation paths.
- Manage incidents, requests, problems and changes through the group’s IT service management process (currently ServiceNow), against agreed service expectations.
- Act as the escalation point for complex or business-critical issues, including direct technical investigation and resolution where appropriate.
- Manage the MSP and specialist vendors, including service quality, escalation, contracts and agreed service levels.
- Coordinate joiners, movers and leavers, with timely provisioning, access reviews and secure removal of access.
Security, compliance and operational resilience
- Apply group security controls for identity, MFA, conditional access, patching, endpoint protection and privileged access.
- Identify, escalate and coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities, security events and control gaps with Group Technology and security partners.
- Own penetration test remediation for in-scope systems and support cyber insurance requirements, including evidence of controls.
- Support EU GMP and other applicable regulatory requirements (including TGA-related requirements where relevant) for computerised systems, access control, audit trails, change control and validation evidence, working with Quality as the process owner.
- Support applicable Danish and EU data-protection requirements (including GDPR), and Australian Privacy Principles where relevant to group systems and data.
- Document critical systems, support procedures, dependencies and recovery arrangements to reduce key-person risk and preserve business continuity.
Integration and projects
- See the Microsoft 365 single-tenant consolidation through to completion, including local readiness, cutover, user support and legacy-service decommissioning.
- See the LGP-side Dynamics 365 Business Central migration through to completion with Finance, the ERP partner and Group Technology, including dependencies, testing, cutover and stabilisation.
- Support the Dynamics 365 CRM programme through local systems knowledge, data and integration coordination, testing and user adoption.
- Support the group quality management system (QMS) programme, including access, interfaces and technical evidence required by Quality and validation leads.
- Work with local business owners to document processes, integrations, technical dependencies and risks; escalate decisions outside local authority.
- Support an orderly retirement of legacy systems, services and contracts once agreed replacements are operational and verified.
Planning, vendor management and reporting
- Contribute to the group technology roadmap and budget, with practical advice on local priorities, risks and investment needs.
- Track local IT expenditure, renewals, licences, support coverage and opportunities to reduce unnecessary cost.
- Provide concise, regular reporting to the GM Technology on service performance, cyber and operational risks, project milestones and decisions required.
Skills and experience
Essential
- At least 5 years in hands-on IT infrastructure, systems administration or technical support, with at least 2 years leading a small team or IT function.
- Strong practical Microsoft 365, Entra ID and endpoint-management skills, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
- Sound networking experience covering LAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, DNS and site connectivity.
- Experience coordinating third-party support providers and holding vendors accountable for delivery and service levels.
- Working knowledge of IT security, access management, patching, backup/recovery and incident response.
- Experience using structured service management, documentation and change-control processes.
- Able to work effectively with site operations and explain risks and technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing a remote team and collaborating across multiple countries and time zones.
Desirable
- Experience supporting GMP or another highly regulated manufacturing or life-sciences environment.
- Familiarity with computerised system validation, audit readiness or GAMP 5 principles.
- Exposure to Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics 365 CRM or other ERP/CRM platforms.
- Experience with electronic QMS, manufacturing/site systems or operational technology interfaces.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant migration, post-merger systems integration or legacy-platform retirement.
- Relevant technical or service-management certifications; Danish language capability where useful for local support.
What success looks like
First 3 months
- Confirm the status of the Microsoft 365 consolidation, close any remaining local IT actions and ensure legacy services are decommissioned or covered by an agreed plan.
- Confirm Business Central migration status with Finance and the ERP partner, own remaining local IT actions and support cutover and stabilisation where needed.
- Complete a structured operational handover, including secure transfer and verification of the access, vendor contacts and information required to run in-scope systems.
- Establish a prioritised inventory of critical systems, integrations, owners, known risks and documentation gaps.
- Clarify responsibilities and escalation paths across the local team, MSP, business owners and Group Technology.
- Confirm local readiness, open actions and agreed milestones for integration projects that remain in progress.
- Establish a risk-based plan for urgent security, resilience and operational issues, with owners and target dates.
First 6 to 12 months
- Consistently reliable support and service performance, with repeat issues analysed and reduced.
- Agreed contributions to the CRM and QMS programmes delivered to the group project plan, including local testing and cutover support as relevant.
- Critical systems, privileged access, backup/recovery arrangements and operating procedures documented, tested and no longer dependent on one person.
- Legacy services retired safely where approved, with business owners confirming operational readiness.
- Clear visibility of IT costs, renewals, vendor performance and an actionable improvement roadmap.
