Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join our dynamic team and strengthen our finance function by ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting our continued growth.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team and support our continued growth as we scale our business. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and helping build scalable finance processes that support our ambitious growth journey.

The role

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, efficient finance processes, and compliance with statutory requirements. You will take ownership of core accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payroll, VAT reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the annual audit.

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Finance Manager. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the business to support financial operations and decision-making, while contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes, internal controls, and systems as the company continues to scale.

You bring solid accounting experience to a young and fast-growing company when you like to take initiative to improve quality and challenge existing process to make the work more efficient.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger postings
• Manage customer invoicing and self-billing activities, ensuring an accurate and efficient order-to-cash process
• Prepare VAT returns and submit to local authorities
• Manage the full monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Support the annual audit process
• Contribute to the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls
• Support the implementation and optimization of ERP systems and finance tools
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business to provide financial insights and support decision-making
• Participate in ad hoc finance projects and other accounting-related tasks as needed

What you bring

Experience and skills (Required)

• +5 years of experience in accounting or a similar finance role
• Hands-on experience across core accounting processes, including AP/AR, invoicing, payroll, VAT, audit, and ERP systems
• Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably e-conomic
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• English and Danish proficiency

Nice to have

• Experience from energy trading or financial institution sector
• Previous experience in high-growth scale-ups
• Experience from a private equity-backed environment
• Experience working with AI-powered tools and digital technologies to support finance processes
