Research Scientist – In Vivo Pharmacology (Maternity Cover)

NMD Pharma is a clinical-stage biotechnology company committed to advancing innovative therapies for neuromuscular diseases. Our lead candidate, ignaseclant, is a first-in-class skeletal muscle-targeted therapy currently in clinical development across multiple indications, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth, Myasthenia Gravis, and Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

We have entered an exciting phase of growth as we progress our clinical programs and continue to expand our pipeline. To support our research activities, we are seeking a Research Scientist to join our In Vivo Pharmacology team on a maternity cover.

In this role, you will contribute to the progression of our early discovery programs by generating high-quality in vivo data and supporting the translation of pharmacological findings into project-relevant insights.

You will work hands-on in the laboratory while collaborating closely with colleagues across Research and with external partners.

Your Responsibilities

You will contribute to the design, execution, and interpretation of in vivo pharmacology studies that support target understanding and compound progression.

  • Design, plan, and execute in vivo pharmacology studies in rodent models
  • Characterize novel compounds, including pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and mode of action
  • Contribute to the development, optimization, and implementation of relevant pharmacology and disease models
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data to project teams and stakeholders
  • Prepare study protocols, reports, and scientific documentation with high quality and reproducibility
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in Research and external partners
  • Contribute to scientific discussions and support data-driven project decisions
  • Ensure high standards of animal welfare, data integrity, and experimental quality

Your Profile

We are looking for a scientist with a strong foundation in in vivo pharmacology who enjoys combining hands-on experimental work with scientific interpretation and collaboration.

  • M.Sc. or PhD in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Physiology, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with in vivo pharmacology and rodent handling, including relevant certification
  • Solid understanding of PK/PD relationships in drug discovery
  • Experience from biotech, pharma, or academia with relevance to drug discovery is an advantage
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets and translate findings into clear conclusions
  • Structured and collaborative working style with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken

About the Team

You will join a dedicated In Vivo Pharmacology team. The team plays a central role in advancing NMD Pharma’s research pipeline and works closely with cross-functional project teams.

Practical Information
