Shipping Solutions is looking for a Controlling Manager to lead our team of 5-6 controllers in Aarhus, Denmark.

This role is ideal for a senior finance profile who wants to combine people leadership with hands-on controlling responsibility in an international business environment.

Working in the Controlling Team at Shipping Solutions

As Controlling Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient controlling processes. You will lead the team, support business decisions through clear financial insights, and help ensure compliance with IFRS, governance standards, and company policies.

You will work closely with stakeholders across Accounting, Finance Business Partnering, Financial Transformation, and Operations, as well as relevant counterparts across DP World.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in Aarhus N, Denmark, relocating to Irmahus, Aarhus Ø, in April 2027. Very limited travel is expected in this role. We are seeking candidates already residing in Denmark.

You report to Tommy Riber Thomsen, Accounting & Controlling Director.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Analyze financial performance and explain key deviations versus budget and prior periods
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and compliance with financial policies and standards
  • Drive standardization and optimization of controlling processes, reporting, and systems
  • Collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders to support business performance
  • Lead, coordinate, and develop the Controlling team, including planning, task ownership, and follow-up

Who are you?

You bring a strong foundation in accounting and controlling, combined with leadership experience and a pragmatic mindset.

We imagine that you:

  • Have experience from controlling and/or accounting (typically 5+ years)
  • Have led a team or taken informal leadership responsibility
  • Understand IFRS and financial controls
  • Are comfortable working hands-on while leading others
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate well with different stakeholders
  • A proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative mindset
  • Professional proficiency in English

An audit background or cand.merc.aud. is an advantage – but not a requirement.
