
Process Engineer for Fermentation Development
Do you have experience with small and large projects within industrial fermentation processes?
If you have worked with fermentation in biotech and enjoy working with process development, then you might be the colleague we are looking for!
You will join our process engineering team, and you will help with further development and scaling of our fermentation technology.

Unibio has developed a planet-friendly fermentation technology to produce protein; Uniprotein®. Based on methane, and using our patented technology, we can produce high quality protein making it possible to feed the world’s growing population without devastating ecosystems.
Our headquarters are in Roskilde, close to Copenhagen, and our Innovation Centre and pilot facilities are in Kalundborg.

Our Innovation Centre has a dual function in the company, as we alternate between technology development projects and test production of new products. We work closely with other teams, such as R&D and Commercial, to create the best conditions for our growth.
You can look forward to becoming part of a young team that appreciates working together and helping each other. We are small enough for everyone to contribute where needed, which means great cooperation and variation every day.
You will be engaged in:
- Driving technology development through process experiments
- Experimental design and optimisation/scaling of industrial fermentations
- Daily support of fermentation processes
- Implementation projects for fermentation at the Innovation Centre
- Design, commissioning, and support of new plants
- Documenting experiments and knowledge through WIs/SOPs and batch reports
We imagine that you:
- Have a background as a chemical engineer, M.Sc., B.Sc., process engineer, or similar
- Have experience with applied fermentation technology
- Have knowledge of support and process optimisation of fermentation in the biotech industry
- Are good at collaborating and communicating clearly with different stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Work in a structured way and execute on your tasks
- Can handle and prioritise many tasks at a time, as well as execute on them
- Are fluent in English and Danish, both written and spoken
We offer:
Your daily workplace is in Kalundborg at the Unibio Innovation Centre combined with occasional working days at our offices in Roskilde. You should expect between 20 and 40 travel days per year.
We are currently 75 employees representing 15 nationalities. We scale up quickly, and things change all the time. The distance from thought to action is short, and there are many opportunities to contribute and grow. You can look forward to becoming part of a positive, informal environment.
