Technical Sales Representative / Captain Nemo, Master of Water Systems
Some systems only reveal themselves when you look beneath the surface.
Wastewater moves quietly through pipes and basins, shaped by chemistry, biology, regulation, and countless operational decisions made every day. Understanding it requires patience, technical insight, and a willingness to go where the system actually leads.
This role is for someone who prefers depth over attention. Who is comfortable navigating complexity, exploring what lies below normal operating views, and improving systems that rarely announce their problems out loud. You work best when you can dive in, understand how things really behave, and surface with solutions that hold.
At Alumichem, this spirit reflects how we approach water and wastewater treatment. We are now looking for a Technical Sales Representative who enjoys understanding how systems actually behave, asking good questions, and working with customers to develop solutions that are practical, robust, and sustainable.
This role is suited to a mid-level to senior professional with a background in chemistry or engineering who appreciates variety, learning, and long-term collaboration.
What the Role Involves
You will work at the intersection of technical understanding, customer dialogue, and solution development. Your focus will be on wastewater treatment within the Aquaculture and Food & Beverage sectors, supporting customers from initial discussion through to implemented solutions.
While the position is based in Scandinavia, it includes international cooperation with customers and colleagues in different markets and operating environments.
What You Will Work With
Technical Sales and Customer Dialogue
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships based on trust and transparency.
- Take time to understand customer wastewater systems, including operational realities.
- Translate challenges into clear, technically sound, and economically reasonable solution proposals.
- Manage sales processes in a structured and collaborative way.
Applied Technical Work
- Act as a technical contact within coagulation and flocculation, phosphorus removal, sludge handling, and water quality optimisation.
- Work closely with internal specialists to adapt solutions to real-world conditions.
- Participate in trials, testing, and evaluations when relevant.
- Share observations and learnings to support continuous improvement.
Markets and Collaboration
- Work with customers across different regulatory and operational contexts.
- Follow developments in wastewater treatment and environmental requirements.
- Support existing customers and contribute to identifying new opportunities.
- Take part in customer meetings and selected industry events.
Who This Role May Suit
This role may be a good fit if you:
- Have a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Have experience working with technical solutions, wastewater systems, or process-related challenges.
- Enjoy understanding how things work and improving them step by step.
- Prefer collaboration and problem-solving over hard selling.
- Are comfortable working independently while being part of a wider team.
- Are interested in working with customers across different countries and contexts.
Experience in Aquaculture or Food & Beverage wastewater is helpful, but not required.

About Alumichem
At Alumichem, we work where water meets resistance.
With chemistry, engineering, and a healthy respect for how complex systems actually behave, we develop water treatment solutions that keep processes stable, efficient, and under control—even under demanding conditions.
Our work spans environments and industries. From cold northern climates to warmer regions further south, from wastewater treatment to industrial process water optimisation, our solutions operate quietly in the background, ensuring that systems keep moving as they should.
Founded on entrepreneurial curiosity, Alumichem is headquartered in Birkerød, with production in Kalundborg and international operations across Belgium, Germany, the UK, Ghana, the USA, and Canada. Our footprint already extends across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, and Ghana—and there is still plenty of unexplored territory ahead.
Ready to dive in?
From complex cooling systems to challenging wastewater environments, we are always looking for people who enjoy understanding systems from the inside out.
Send us your application. We are not in a hurry—we are interested in finding the right person.
Start date is flexible, as long as you are ready to explore, adjust, and improve systems that rarely reveal their secrets at first glance.
