Head of Business Development & Sales

About the Role

As Head of Business Development & Sales, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the commercial growth strategy of Dynelectro. Initially, you will be a hands-on, one-person commercial team, managing bid proposals, contract negotiations, customer engagements, and sales processes end-to-end, before building and leading a full sales organisation. This is a unique opportunity to drive the commercial expansion of a pioneering company in the hydrogen and renewable energy sector, working closely with the management team and shareholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the Business Development and Sales function.
  • Develop, manage, and coach a high-performing sales team as it grows.
  • Grow the sales funnel and drive top-line growth to support the company in achieving its business plan.
  • Own the full sales cycle initially, including bid proposal management, contract negotiations, customer account management, and commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate commercial interfaces and ensure alignment between internal teams, customers, and strategic partners.
  • Lead strategic market analysis and initiatives, including market segmentation, business model development, and go-to-market planning.
  • Prepare strategic sales recommendations to support informed decisions by the management team and stakeholders.
  • Manage sales and sales-engineering projects in close collaboration with the research and engineering departments.
  • Develop business cases and financial evaluations, both pre- and post-implementation.

Who you are

  • Outstanding academic background (Master’s or Diploma in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent).
  • 5–10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, or a senior commercial role in an industrial environment. Experience in renewable energy or hydrogen markets is strongly preferred.
  • Strong strategic mindset with excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Passion for driving the energy transition and enthusiasm for innovation in a rapidly evolving sector.
  • Comfortable working independently in a hands-on capacity, managing bids, contract negotiations, and customer account management.

Meet Dynelectro

Dynelectro is a fast-moving deep-tech scale-up of around 25 people, headquartered near Roskilde, Denmark. We are commercialising SOEC electrolyser technology through highly efficient Dynamic Electrolysis Units (DEUs), converting up to 90% of electrical energy into green hydrogen while supporting grid stability and lowering costs.

Founded in 2018, our team brings together expertise in electro-physics, materials science, and systems engineering. We are already working towards MW-scale units and have a strategic partnership with SolydEra for a 1 MW electrolyser. We have two pilot units being deployed in the industry, providing a strong foundation for demonstration, customer engagement, and sales efforts.
