Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee and support the electrical construction and quality of utility-scale PV projects on behalf of our clients.
The successful candidate has a background in electrical works on construction sites and will be responsible for supervising daily electrical installation activities, ensuring compliance with design, quality standards, and safety regulations. You will work closely with our clients, project managers, site managers and subcontractors to ensure a high-quality electrical installation.
This role combines technical oversight, on-site supervision, and quality assurance, ensuring that all electrical works are executed according to specification, standards and best practice, and are ready for successful testing, commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor all electrical installation activities on site (Cable trenches, DC, AC, LV/MV, earthing, cable routes, terminations, switchgear, inverters, transformers, etc.).
- Ensure that all electrical works are carried out safely, in accordance with relevant standards, client specifications, local regulations and best practice.
- Verify that installations are in line with approved drawings, single line diagrams, method statements and ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of cable installation, terminations, connections, labelling, earthing and integration with civil/mechanical works.
- Support and witness testing and commissioning activities, such as insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, functional tests and energisation procedures.
- Identify and report non-conformities, punch items and defects; follow up on corrective actions until closure.
- Coordinate daily with site management, HSE, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure aligned planning and safe working conditions.
- Monitor progress of electrical works against programme, escalate delays or constraints, and contribute to mitigation plans.
- Ensure and support that all site documentation related to electrical works is complete and up to date (test reports, checklists, redlines/as-built, inspections, daily logs).
- Verify that tools, test equipment and materials used on site are approved, calibrated and suitable for the intended work.
- Contribute to toolbox talks and safety briefings focused on electrical safety, lock-out/tag-out and safe energisation.
- Support the handover process by preparing and reviewing electrical documentation, test packs and as-built records required by the client.
Qualifications:
- A relevant electrical educational background (electrician, electrical engineer or similar).
- At least 2 years of experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Site Electrician, Commissioning Technician or similar role on construction sites, preferably from PV, wind, BESS or other power/energy projects.
- Solid understanding of electrical installation practices, including DC/AC systems, earthing, protection, cable routing and terminations.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. IEC/EN standards, local wiring regulations, HSE requirements for electrical work).
- Experience in site-based quality control, inspections, test and commissioning support for electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues on site and drive practical and safe solutions.
- Experience working with subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders in a construction environment.
- Comfortable reading and working from technical drawings, schematics and single line diagrams.
- Proficient in using standard IT tools (e.g. email, Excel, report templates, document management systems).
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site for extended periods (approx. 180 days per year or as required by projects).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunity to work on innovative and impactful renewable energy projects for leading clients.
- A supportive and collaborative work environment.
