
AdaptVac is hiring a Laboratory Technician or Biomedical Laboratory Scientist

About the position
As a Laboratory Technician/Biomedical Laboratory Scientist at AdaptVac, you will be an integral part of our laboratory activities. Your responsibilities will range from routine laboratory procedures to active participation in research projects centered on vaccine development. At AdaptVac, we pride ourselves on a dynamic and continuously evolving work environment. The team at AdaptVac works in close collaboration with the VLPVAC team at the University of Copenhagen.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cloning, PCR, and plasmid DNA purification
- Preparation of reagents and daily lab maintenance tasks
- Protein expression (shake flasks, fermenters)
- Protein purification (e.g., IMAC, SEC)
- Quality control of expressed proteins (WB, DLS, SDS…)
- Handling of animals (e.g. immunization, bleeding, organ harvest)
- Immunological assays (e.g. ELISA, ELISPOT)
- Cell work (e.g. mammalian cells, E. coli, insect cells)
- Participation in research projects involving vaccine development in close collaboration with our scientists
Your profile
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Holds a degree as a laboratory technician or biomedical laboratory scientist
- Is motivated, proactive, reliable and a good team player
- Can handle a dynamic environment and be flexible
- Works independently, systematically, and with attention to detail
- Is good at problem solving, time management and organization
- Has hands-on experience with multiple methods outlined above
- Has strong English skills, both written and spoken (English is our working language)
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint)
It will be an advantage if you also have experience with:
- Production and purification of virus-like particles (VLPs)
- Analysis of vaccine-induced immune responses
- FELASA certificate
About AdaptVac
AdaptVac is a spin-out from the University of Copenhagen, developing next-generation vaccines based on virus-like particles (VLPs). We work on vaccines against both infectious and chronic diseases and test them in preclinical animal models. Similarly, AdaptVac has been developing the Danish COVID19 vaccine.
Our labs are located in the Maersk Tower at the University of Copenhagen, with access to state-of-the-art research facilities. AdaptVac collaborates closely with the VLPVAC research group at the Department of Immunology and Microbiology (ISIM), Centre for Translational Medicine and Parasitology (CMP).

Terms of employment
- Location: Maersk Tower, 11th floor, Blegdamsvej 3B, 2200 Copenhagen N
- Full-time (37 hours/week), permanent position
- Employment and salary according to the relevant collective agreements, with the possibility of individual salary negotiation
