International Junior Purchaser

Nissens Automotive is a Danish-based international company with a full value chain that supplies a wide range of high-quality products to both Danish and international customers in the independent automotive aftermarket. The company is growing and constantly developing and has a leading position in the market. Nissens Automotive has production, distribution and sales companies in a number of countries worldwide. The company's headquarters are in Horsens, Denmark. Since Dec. 24 Nissens Automotive is owned by Standard Motor Products (SMP) – a strong player in the US market. With Nissens' significant position in Europe, the two companies will together achieve a turnover of over 1.5 billion euros and employ more than 6,500 employees in over 50 locations in North America, Europe and Asia. The new ownership has given many new opportunities for Nissens Automotive.

As an International Junior Purchaser, the right candidate will have a great opportunity to develop skills within strategic purchasing, international business as well as personnel competencies. In close collaboration with colleagues in Horsens and internationally the person will be responsible for the category “engine cooling” and over time develop into a vital role in the future setup of Nissens Automotive.

Areas of responsibility and tasks:

  • Supplier Management for the Engine Cooling Category with 8 active product groups.
  • Supplier negotiations for prices, terms & conditions
  • Analytics for the KPIs in the Procurement area for the Category
  • Cross functional alignment with other Nissens & SMP Group entities & brands
  • Improving and maintaining supplier performance
  • Support on cross-functional projects.

Specific Tasks

  • Execute all tasks within our operating model e.g.:
    • Strategic purchasing within the category
    • Develop category purchasing strategy and support company strategy
    • Responsible for back-to-back commitment in customer supplier relationship.
    • Cost out projects and analysis
    • Develop partnerships with suppliers.
  • Supplier visits (globally) & relationship management
  • Update and maintain Master Data
  • Supplier negotiations
  • Monitor, analyze and improve supplier performance
  • Select and approve suppliers
  • Support launch of new products in close partnership with the Engine Cooling category team

What we would be able to offer you professionally and personally:

  • You thrive on independent work, are structured and have a good understanding of business practice. You most likely have a commercial education and a good business understanding. Perhaps your experience so far has been within purchasing or at least you have a solid understanding of the value chain and are eager to learn.
  • Most importantly you are trustworthy and collaborative with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels. You are proactive, structured, and action driven.

The basics

  • You are able travel 25-35 days a year
  • You are fluent in English
  • Good digital understanding and comfortable with Microsoft Office
