Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Job Description

As CMO at UMAGE, you will be responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy that supports our growth ambitions. You will play a key role in structuring and leading our marketing team, which includes Graphic Design, Media, Communications, and Photography & Styling. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Creating a new visual and written communication strategy taking the UMAGE DNA to new innovative and positively differentiating levels.
  • Structure, motivate and guide the work of the Graphic Design, Media, Web, Communications, and Photography & Styling teams.
  • Foster an inspiring and collaborative work environment where creativity and efficiency go hand-in-hand.

Project Management, Launches and Campaigns

  • Oversee, plan, and facilitate the execution of project-related work across the above-mentioned departments.
  • Lead the development and execution of product launches 2-4 times a year and suitable marketing campaigns throughout to support these.

Social Media and Digital Marketing

  • Oversee growth across our social media platforms by strategising and facilitating the creation of targeted, relevant, diversified and memorable content in close collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Oversee the analysis and optimisation of social media strategies to ensure they drive community engagement and sales growth.

Public Relations (PR) & Branding

  • Set the strategic direction for press activities in collaboration with the PR Manager and external partners
  • Strengthen the company's media presence by cultivating key relationships and guiding high-level outreach to ensure consistent international visibility and long-term brand relevance.
  • Represent and brand the company at relevant events. Act as the UMAGE’s media spokesperson and gain access where our piers fall short.
  • Refine procedures and workflows for the Content Life Cycle in close collaboration with the sales team and other relevant departments.

Communication and Creativity

  • Provide strategic direction and editorial oversight across all brand communications, including press releases, product stories, newsletters and user guides, to ensure consistency, relevance and alignment with brand and business objectives.
  • Elevate the impact and visibility of the UMAGE Newspaper by guiding content strategy, refining positioning, and increasing perceived value among readers.

Your Profile:

  • We are looking for an experienced leader with a proven background in marketing and communication. You thrive in a very dynamic and creative environment where no day is the same, and you can adapt quickly to shifting priorities and juggle many projects at once.

You should have:

  • At least 6 years of experience in the industry, preferably within the furniture or lighting sector, with a history of long-term positions.
  • A well-established network of influencers and media contacts within the industry.
  • A strategic and brand-led approach to all marketing disciplines, including PR, e-commerce, visual identity, photography and content production, with a focus on growth, performance and long-term brand positioning.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Danish, written and spoken. French or German is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple launches and projects simultaneously.
  • A strong passion for public speaking and an ability to represent the company in front of large audiences.
  • A creative and innovative mindset, always looking for new ways to approach challenges and marketing opportunities.
