Portfolio Manager

Are you a process-oriented Portfolio Manager with experience within the renewable energy, EPC or infrastructure sectors? Are you comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with multiple stakeholders and ready to make an impact that matters?

We are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee and manage the overall portfolio planning for Better Energy Management, covering all projects from development through execution to handover to operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a renewable energy company in a workplace where you can truly make a difference. Better Energy Management provides services for activities in asset management, EPC management and project development to utility-scale renewable energy projects. The EPC Management business unit focuses on overseeing construction and infrastructure activities related to solar park projects. The total portfolio comprises around 2 GWp of installed solar energy capacity.

Your role

You will be a part of the Project Management department within the EPC Management business unit. The main role of Project Management is to coordinate all activities to deliver projects from pre-FID (Final Investment Decision) to handover. The team takes ownership of the projects from the development teams and transfers them to the Operations & Maintenance teams once grid connected and tested.

Project managers play a central role, managing the timeline, scope and budget of projects during the execution phase, in coordination with various internal stakeholders.

You will work in our Copenhagen office. Better Energy Management also has office locations in Kolding and Sønderborg.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

  • Maintaining and regularly updating individual project plans (using MS Project), consolidating them into a clear, reliable portfolio plan covering all projects from development to execution.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams within Better Energy Management to align project scopes, priorities and resource needs.
  • Establishing, leading and maintaining a dynamic resource plan that reflects the current and forecasted portfolio, identifying capacity gaps and bottlenecks to be addressed by the Management Team.
  • Driving accurate and transparent portfolio planning, ensuring alignment with Better Energy Management’s organisational capacity and strategic priorities.
  • Conducting portfolio-level risk assessments, identify dependencies and bottlenecks, and developing mitigation proposals to support proactive decision-making.
  • Designing, implementing and managing a structured process for portfolio management, providing the Management Team with decision material based on agreed KPIs and portfolio insights.
  • Coordinating regular project status reporting, milestone tracking, and portfolio updates to ensure timely visibility on progress, risks and resource implications.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a (Senior) Portfolio Manager, with at least 5 years of work experience within the Renewable Energy, EPC or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Work experience within project organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to navigate complex challenges inherent to renewable projects.
  • Ability to engage efficiently with a diverse range of stakeholders, across different functions and seniority levels.
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Project management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Project (or similar planning tools), PowerPoint Excel and PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Fluent in English, Danish is not required but would be a plus.
  • PM certification is not a prerequisite but would be a plus.
