Senior Project Manager

Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in renewable energy or infrastructure projects? Are you ready to manage complex solar PV projects and ensure successful delivery from contract signing through construction to operational handover?

We are looking for a skilled Senior Project Manager to lead project execution, manage EPC contracts, coordinate stakeholders and drive results across our portfolio. The position is a 6-month contract running through the end of 2025, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Better Energy Management provides services for activities in asset management, EPC management and project development to utility-scale renewable energy projects. The EPC Management business unit focuses on overseeing construction and infrastructure activities related to solar park projects. The total portfolio comprises around 2 GWp of installed solar energy capacity.

Your role

You will be a part of the Project Management department within the EPC Management business unit. The main role of Project Management is to coordinate all activities to deliver projects from pre-FID (Final Investment Decision) to handover. The team takes ownership of the projects from the development teams and transfers them to the Operations & Maintenance teams once grid connected and tested.

Project managers play a central role, managing the timeline, scope and budget of projects during the execution phase, in coordination with various internal stakeholders.

You will work in our Copenhagen office. Better Energy Management also has office locations in Kolding and Sønderborg.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

• Managing the execution of solar PV projects, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, schedule, quality and safety standards.
• Continuously updating and overseeing the Project Management Plan, including risk assessments, issues log, change management and lessons learned.
• Preparing and maintaining detailed project budgets, CAPEX forecasts and project schedules in coordination with EPC and other relevant teams.
• Managing EPC contractual obligations, ensuring timely and cost-efficient project delivery.
• Supporting external legal and technical due diligence processes together with Investment, Legal, and EPC teams.
• Developing and implementing communication and reporting plans to ensure alignment between project teams and stakeholders.
• Overseeing the project handover process from EPC to Asset Management and ensuring liability management during the defect liability period.
• Contributing actively to the development of efficient project management processes and knowledge sharing within the organisation.
• Ensuring that all project activities reflect Better Energy Management’s values, governance standards and strategic objectives.

Your structured approach and attention to detail ensure that nothing slips through the cracks, even when juggling multiple complex projects. You communicate clearly and want to establish positive and productive relationships across teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within utility-scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in managing EPC contracts, project scheduling, budgeting and risk management.
• Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles and contract management principles.
• Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination.
• Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills.
• Fluency in English (Danish is a plus but not mandatory).
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with CAPEX management, due diligence processes and project financing support is an advantage.
• PM certification is not a prerequisite but would be a plus.
