PhD scholarship in Micromechanical Analysis of Swelling and Compressibility of Clay
The Department of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) invites interested candidates for a PhD position in a research project related with the analysis of the micromechanical behaviour of soil/rock material with high clay mineral content.
The position is affiliated with the Section of Geotechnics and Geology.
The PhD project deals with the experimental investigation of the swelling and compressibility of soil/rock rich in clay minerals. The macromechanical observations will be combined with micromechanical analysis in order to provide an association with the physical and chemical phenomena at the micro-scale.
