Quantitative Modelling of Cell Metabolism (QMCM) is a new section at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain).
In QMCM, we focus on developing mathematical models to explore and explain the molecular basis for homeostasis – the self-regulating processes evolved to maintain metabolic equilibrium in organisms.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing high-throughput quantitative metabolomics analyses to biological researchers. Assays will include targeted metabolomics and flux analysis using both LC-MS and GC-MS. The successful candidate will be involved in communicating with users, participation in experimental design, sample preparation, Instrument analysis, data interpretation, and instrument management.
The section for Image Analysis and Computer Graphics at DTU’s Department for Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (“DTU Compute”) would like to invite applications for a 3-year PhD position starting in the fall of 2018.

Commercial fishing with mobile bottom-contacting gear is one of the major anthropogenic activities affecting marine ecosystems. Short term impacts on the seabed include physical disturbance, resuspension of sediments, mortality of benthic fauna, and alteration of habitat structures, while long term impacts may include changes in community composition and function, and reductions in habitat complexity.
Assessment of the benthic effects and by-catch of fishing is a central component in ecosystem based fisheries management.

Ved Fødevareinstituttets (DTU Food)-afdeling for Fødevaremikrobiologi og Hygiejne er en stilling som laborant ledig for en tre måneders periode fra 1. oktober til 31. december 2018.
Stillingen er projektorienteret og indgår i en gruppe, som hovedsagelig beskæftiger sig med forskningsprojekter indenfor antibiotikaresistens og MRSA hos husdyr.
Stillingen indebærer dyrkning af bakterier fra husdyr, herunder både aerobe og anaerobe bakterier. Disse bakterier identificeres ved brug af MALDI-TOF, ligesom der udføres undersøgelse af antibiotikaresistens ved brug af MIC-bestemmelse.

VILLUM FONDEN has provided a substantial grant to “The Villum Center for the Science of Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals” (V-SUSTAIN). The clear aim of the center is to provide the science necessary to phase out fossil fuels and thereby alleviate the negative impact the continuous use of these have on the earth’s climate and environment. The center is a collaboration between DTU, Stanford University, University of Copenhagen, and University of Southern Denmark.

The successful applicant will be based in the research group for Bioactives – Analysis and Application. One of the focus areas of the research group is vitamins in food. We are looking for a candidate to work on error correction coding and shaping for high-speed optical communication. The focus will be on forward error-correction (FEC), as well as the combination of FEC with (probabilistic) shaping.
The Acoustic Technology group at DTU Electrical Engineering conducts research in experimental methods in acoustics, sound fields, architectural acoustics, signal processing, transduction, vibration and numerical methods. As a part of a new research project granted to Efren Fernandez Grande by the VILLUM foundation, we will initiate several projects on sound field analysis, measurement and reproduction. The research project is titled “large-scale acoustic holography”, and it aims at developing an experimental framework to capture the full three-dimensional acoustic field inside a room or enclosure.
The objective of the PhD project is to develop experimental methods to characterize the spatio-temporal properties of the sound field in a room, based on measurements with microphone arrays and distributed sensor networks.
