The National Food Institute (DTU Food) offers two PhD positions within the field of microbiology and ecology of the intestine.

- PhD1: Delivery of probiotics by micro-containers: This PhD will investigate the use of nano- and microfabricated containers, produced by our colleagues at DTU Nanotech, for delivery of selected probiotic bacteria into the intestinal environment of germ-free and conventional mice.
- PhD2: New strategies for treatment of Ulcerative Colitis (UC): This PhD will investigate the potential of ingestion of specific bacteria and mixtures of bacteria within nano- and microfabricated containers for treatment and alleviation UC in animal models.
A combined position as professor with specific responsibilities in radiation therapy and as medical physicist is vacant at the Research Unit of Oncology, Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark and at the Department of Oncology, Odense University Hospital, respectively.
The position is for 5 years with the possibility of extension.

Røde Kors asylafdeling søger en centermedarbejder med omsorgs- og kontaktpersonsfunktion til et tværfagligt team på Udrejsecenter Kærshovedgård.
Centeret drives af Kriminalforsorgen med Røde Kors som underleverandør. Centeret har en kapacitet på 400 beboere, som består af afviste asylansøgere i udsendelsesposition, udlændinge med udvisningsdom og personer på tålt ophold.
Det tværfaglige pædagogiske team arbejder med personer blandt centrets beboere, som har diverse psykosociale eller helbredsmæssige problemer såsom psykisk sårbarhed, misbrug, aparte adfærd, aggressiv adfærd, stærk isolation etc.
Vores opgave er at skabe en tryg, meningsfuld og værdig hverdag for disse personer, mens de venter på at blive sendt ud af landet.

DTU Chemical Engineering invites applications for a 3-year PhD position in Viscoelastic Response of Double Dynamics Polymer Networks under Transient Elongation.
Polymer gels and networks are ubiquitous in daily life with various applications (tissue engineering, sensors, drug delivery, etc.). In order to combine distinct features within the same material, new types of polymer networks with the combination of at least two dynamic modes are desired.
The objective of this PhD project is to understand the exact role of molecular parameters such as entanglements, dangling ends and chain architectures on the dynamics of Double Dynamics Networks (DDNs).
VILLUM FONDEN have granted 150 million DKK over the next 8 years to “The Villum Center for the Science of Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals” (V-SUSTAIN). The clear aim of the centre is to phase out fossil fuels and thereby alleviate the negative impact the continuous use these have on the earth’s climate and environment.
PhD positions are available at V-SUSTAIN to work on the experimental development of new catalysts in one of the six sub-projects: 1) Electrochemical water splitting, 2) Photoelectrochemical water splitting, 3) Oxygen reduction in fuel cells, 4) Thermal heterogeneous catalysis for CO2 hydrogenation into alcohols, 5) Electrochemical reduction of CO2 to fuels and chemicals, and 6) Electrochemical production of ammonia.

Department of Food and Veterinary Issues, Danish Agriculture & Food Council, is offering an industry PhD Fellowship in Toxoplasma gondii in Danish pigs and its zoonotic potential to commence on 1 April 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position is limited to 3 years. The location will be either in Skejby, Aarhus, or Copenhagen, depending on the candidate.
Your key tasks as an industry PhD fellow at the Danish Agriculture & Food Council will be to:

The Department of Bio and Health Informatics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Bioinformatics) is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Database Architect and scientific computing programmer. Your main responsibility will be to maintain the clinical, biological, experimental, genomic and other multi-omic data-warehouse and secure that various public or restricted databases are updated regularly on legacy infrastructure. A PhD position is available at the Neutrons and X-rays for Materials Physics section (NEXMAP) at DTU Physics. We are seeking for a PhD student to work in the area of soft matter physics.
The planned research belongs to the physics and materials science of polymers and oligomers. Particular interests are in early crystallization of flexible polymers in solutions and in crystallization of conjugated oligomers in thin films.
An ideal candidate has experience in soft materials and in the use of synchrotron radiation and neutron scattering. Previous experience in company research is an asset. The tasks include:
- Prepare materials by gel processing and vacuum deposition
- Conduct X-ray and neutron experiments and subsequent data analysis. This includes SANS experiments and work with X-ray micro- and nanobeams.
A 3-year PhD scholarship in the field of nanomaterial chemistry is available at the Department of Chemistry.
The PhD scholarship is expected to start on the 1st of April or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate can join a newly established, young research team, which is a part of the NanoChemistry Group, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry section at DTU Chemistry.
The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree in chemistry, materials science or physics, specifically with:
- Strong experimental background of material chemistry or inorganic chemistry.
- Prior experience of optoelectronic nanomaterials especially colloidal QDs including material synthesis and basic characterization (e.g. SEM, TEM, XRD, UV-Vis and PL spectroscopies) is preferred
The Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Environment) advertises a fully funded 3-year PhD position in Environmental Engineering.
The goal of the PhD project is to develop a method to improve water and sediment quality in an economically feasible manner. To achieve this goal, the PhD Student will employ the microbial fuel cell technology MFC to stimulate microbial processes. The overall project is in cooperation between NIRAS, Aarhus University and DTU Environment.
Responsibilities and tasks
- The successful candidate will have a solid base in Environmental Engineering or similar, and have very good grades.
- The candidate will have a mathematical way of thinking, are skilled in chemical analysis, and you have hands-on experience with experimental work (preferably with microbial fuel cells).
We are seeking a number of talented and motivated PhD students at the Bacterial Synthetic Biology section led by Professor Morten Sommer at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability at the Technical University of Denmark.
The present opportunity relates to a recent grant obtained by the group to use synthetic biology to develop engineered bacterial therapeutics for the gut microbiome. The comprises PIs spanning preclinical through to clinical researchers and has as a goal to test these novel synthetic biology interventions in human clinical trials.
The candidates shall work independently on the development of high impact research projects. Accordingly, a significant workload is expected in order to advance projects successfully.
We seek a skilled and motivated lab manager who will support and contribute to the research in the Hearing Systems group at the Department of Electrical Engineering at DTU.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of the research laboratories of the Hearing Systems group at DTU. The tasks require technical as well as innovative and communication skills to maintain and improve the level of the research facilities in collaboration with the researchers in the group. It provides the possibility to develop novel approaches and techniques to be used in the ongoing research topics, and it possible to actively contribute to research within the group.

A 3-year PhD scholarship in synthetic inorganic chemistry is available at the Department of Chemistry, starting from April 1st, 2018, or as soon as possible. The project will be under supervision of Assistant Professor Martin Nielsen and is funded by the VILLUM Foundation Young Investigator Programme.
The research in the group is focused on designing and synthesizing inorganic coordination complexes, for homogeneous organometallic catalysis in the broad field of sustainable chemistry.
You will be involved in all facets of the research towards developing new and efficient organometallic catalysts, for bio feedstock valorisation and chemical hydrogen storage applications.
A combined position as Clinical Professor in Diabetes with function as Head of Research, and as Consultant in Endocrinology is vacant at the Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark, and at the Steno Diabetes Centre Odense (SDCO), respectively.
The two combined posts are considered as one entity. Allocation of time between the clinical professorship and the consultancy will be negotiated and may vary with time.
