The Radiation Physics Division carries out research, innovation and research-based consultancy in the fields of dosimetry, luminescence physics, and neutronics, with applications within e.g. geological and archaeological dating, radiation therapy, radiation processing, radiation protection and nuclear emergency preparedness.
The aim of this PhD project is to formulate a simple benchmark model that captures the inherent complexity of a multi-fluid nuclear reactor core. The benchmark model should be applied in investigating different approaches towards neutronics and thermal-hydraulics modelling of coupled fluid systems, and refined methods for multi-physics simulations of coupled fluid systems should be developed.

DTU Nutech, the Radiation Physics Division, is seeking candidates for a PhD position to develop a dosimetry system for low energy kV x-rays used in radiation processing.
The Radiation Physics Division carries out research, innovation and research-based consultancy in the fields of dosimetry, luminescence physics, and neutronics, with applications within e.g. geological and archaeological dating, radiation therapy, radiation processing, radiation protection and nuclear emergency preparedness. The division presently consists of approx. 35 people including researchers, technicians and PhD students.
There is an increased interest in applications of low energy x-rays (50-200 kV) in radiation processing, including sterilization of medical devices, food irradiation, polymer modifications and sterilization of insects. In addition, kV x-rays are also used for certain types of radiotherapy.

VILLUM FONDEN has provided a substantial grant over the next 7 years to "The Villum Center for the Science of Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals" (V-SUSTAIN). The clear aim of the center is to provide the science necessary to phase out fossil fuels and thereby alleviate the negative impact the continuous use of these have on the earth's climate and environment.
V-SUSTAIN consists of six subprojects. These processes can become key for producing fuels and chemicals in a future sustainable society. The topics of the two open PhD projects are:
