One PhD position is available at the Department of Bio and Health Informatics (DTU Bioinformatics) with a focus on germline predisposition in cancer, and influence on somatic evolution as well as impact on disease progression and treatment outcome.
Genetic alterations that drive cancer susceptibility and progression, occur both in germline and somatic contexts. The bioinformatics necessary to integrate these contexts, needs large data handling, a biological focus and new integrative thinking.
The PhD will be based on in-house as well as public data, and will involve:
- Contributing to our NGS pipelines for analyzing and interpreting whole-genome and RNA-seq data for childhood cancer in Denmark
- Variant prioritization and functional impact analysis strategies
- Integrating germline and somatic variants on landscapes of cancer relevant pathways
