Call for Instructor – Academic Writing Online Course

Are you passionate about academic writing and online teaching?
We are seeking a skilled and motivated instructor to teach our Academic Writing Online course, which will be offered twice during Autumn 2025 and twice during Spring 2026

Course Details

  • Format: Online
  • Schedule: 4 courses per year (2 in Autumn, 2 in Spring)
  • Contact Hours per Course: 16
  • ECTS points: 1.5 (granted upon full attendance and active participation)

About the Course

The Academic Writing Online course is designed for academic staff aiming to strengthen their ability to write scientific journal articles. The course takes a text-based approach to writing, with a strong focus on structure, academic vocabulary, and grammatical accuracy. Participants actively work on their own texts and receive individualized, targeted feedback to support their specific writing goals.

Course Objectives

The course is designed to help participants:

  • Strengthen their understanding and use of academic vocabulary
  • Develop greater grammatical accuracy in academic writing
  • Improve the structure of academic texts (e.g., abstracts, introductions, logical flow)
  • Engage in practical writing using their own academic texts
  • Receive constructive, targeted feedback on specific writing challenges
  • Encourage independent learning and reflective reading practices

Course Components

Participants will engage in a range of learning activities, including:

  • Presentations on key topics in academic writing
  • Group discussions and peer-to-peer interaction
  • Individual and collaborative writing excercises
  • Hands-on workshops using participants’ own writing
  • Interactive and reflective learning tasks

Instructor Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Experience teaching academic writing at the university level
  • Excellent command of English (native or near-native proficiency)
  • Familiarity with the structure and conventions of scientific writing
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback on academic texts
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills in an online learning environment*
