Postdoc position in Co-designing Just and Sustainable Transitions at IT-University of Copenhagen
Job description
We invite applications for a one-year postdoctoral research position titled "Co-designing Just and Sustainable Transitions" In the Digitalization, Democracy, and Governance (DDG) section at IT University of Copenhagen (ITU). DDG is an interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to exploring how digital technologies shape the organization, governance, and management of socio-technical systems, with a particular emphasis on political and societal implications.
The candidate will explore critical issues at the nexus of sustainability, social justice, and participatory design, contributing insights into the transformation of communities, organizations, and societal practices that advance equitable, democratic, and sustainable futures.
Candidates are expected to possess high-level of methodological skills in participatory and qualitative research approaches (e.g., Action Research, Participatory Design, Ethnography, or Design Anthropology). The role involves collaboration within an interdisciplinary environment, drawing from fields such as Design, Anthropology, Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Science and Technology Studies (STS).
Besides carrying out research activities, the postdoc will contribute to teaching in ITU’s educational programmes (specifically, in BSc in Digital Design & Interactive Technologies). Teaching responsibilities cover course contents such co-design, design research, qualitative methods and design anthropology.
The position offers an academic mentorship program to support professional development, clarifying career goals and improving their profile in the relevant areas.
The duration of a postdoc position is one year, starting on 15 July, or soon thereafter.

Salary and terms of employment
Appointment and salary will be in accordance with the Ministry of Taxation’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and job structure for academic staff at Universities.

- Candidates are required to have academic qualifications at PhD level
