Viborg International School is seeking to appoint a fully qualified teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year 2025/26. One of our highly skilled teachers is taking a leave of absence and we are looking for a substitute for one year.

You will be the class teacher for three classes:

· A mixed age class of stage 3 and 4 with international children aged 7-9 years.

· A stage 8 class with international children aged 12-13 years

· A stage 9 class with international children aged 13-14 years

Should you be able to teach Danish as a first language to our youngest students it will be an advantage. However, the Cambridge classes have first priority.

Viborg International School is a department within Viborg private Realskole. The school has a long history and the International Department opened in 2010. We follow the Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum framework and the successful candidate would be responsible for delivering the Cambridge curriculum in English and Literature and possibly Humanities for stage 3 and 4.

In total there are 830 students at the school with students from 0 - 10th grade (5-16 years) and the International Department accounts for 85 of our students. We have seven international classes consisting of a wide variety of cultures, mixed age groups, and academic levels and therefore, your differentiation skills must be excellent.

We are seeking an individual who:

● Has experience teaching students in the relevant age groups

● Prior experience with teaching English as a first and second language will be looked on favourably

● Can incorporate a wide range of learning styles in their teaching.

● Can think creatively and organise the curriculum and ensure coverage of all Cambridge units in a mixed age group setting using clearly defined differentiation in lesson planning

● Knowledge of or willingness to learn Danish will be considered a merit

Overall responsibilities:

● To be explicit in developing models for learning so students can make cross cultural connections and apply their learning in a variety of contexts

● To continuously improve classroom practice and achieve excellent student outcomes

● To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students

● To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
