Newrest is looking for a Ramp Safety Officer, to join our team of 280 dedicated colleagues who provide airline catering services to our customers in Copenhagen Airport.

In collaboration under the Ramp Safety Manager, the Rampe Safety Officer is responsible for preventing incident/accident, reduce repeated safety violations of ramp operation activities and support Operation to comply with Newrest requirements. As Ramp Safety Officer you report all data from regular checks identifying trends, planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of transportation operations, including developing and executing strategies to improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Operational:

  • Conduct safety & security inspections as per set quality procedures and requirements on operational and maintenance units at the station level.
  • Detect/ identify potential hazards in the system by conduct frequent evaluation on the operational services against the operation standards and carry out risk assessment suggestions to the line manager.
  • Report significant issues that are affecting the safety of operations to the Ramp Safety Manager.
  • Prepare all related reports to safety, Accident/ Incident Report. Reports forward these reports to Ramp Safety Manager for further action while ensuring to update it frequently with required data.
  • Report any issues affecting safety of Newrest operations and forward those reports to the line manager for further actions to reduce and control operation gaps.
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents/ incidents at respective stations with the line manager, in accordance with the requirements of the customer airlines to Ramp safety Manager.
  • Apply the corrective safety action plans to help the company achieve major reduction in employee injuries and aircraft damages.
  • Apply adequate safety guidelines received from corporate office and disseminating information to the concerned operational personnel.
  • Inspect trucks and ramp equipment for safety and efficiency on a random basis.
  • Participate in the airside safety committee (if any) at the station level and raise the issues related to safety.
  • Ensure that security controls are in place and being implemented as per the SGS standards as per the requirements and standards of: Customer Airlines Policies & State authority requirements.
  • Report all actual or suspected acts of unlawful interference with the customer airlines aircrafts at the station level to Ramp Safety Manager.
  • Remain knowledgeable of current airline industry legislation and health and safety standards.
  • Conduct read and sign safety briefings
  • Classroom trainings

Required Competencies:

There are several ways into this position, but we expect you to, ideally, represent the following skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required e.g. Quality Management, Industrial Engineering and Safety Management is a plus.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in relevant fields aviation ground Handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures within aviation ground Handling.
  • Proficient in English and Danish verbally and in writing
  • Flair for IT (MS Office) and reporting software is a plus.

You must be able to pass an extended background security check due to the nature of our work. Only candidates living in Zealand or Malmø area will be taken into consideration. You will be working on a 2 shifts plan (day or evening) and at work 2 weekends per month.
